So I told my DOC that I am unhappy with her services...

Original post by johnsae

She said she is 'taken aback'...apparently she has no clue that she ***** (no surprises there). Anyway, now I have a major dilemma....We have paid her $300 so far, and still owe quite a bit more. I can fire her and go with someone else and lose the $$, or I can stick with her and pray to god that she comes through for me.

I don't know what to do!!

And one DOC that is so popular on here, I contacted her like three weeks ago. No response at all!

If you're this uncomfortable, I would cut my losses as well and look for another DOC. You need to be comfortable the day of your wedding.

I've been down this road and had to let go of $600.00. It was a total waste of my money, and it cost me more. So make sure you do your homework before you hire another one. They will tell you whatever you want to hear and the minute they have your money forget it, it feels like you have to chase them down they dont know any good vendors but they tell you they do, and the never remember anything. Good luck

Also...this may seem like a petty thing to complain about, but it really bothered me...

my DOC met me at my venue once to go over logistics, and she was 15 minutes late....she didn't apologize for being late when she arrived and she didn't answer her cell when I called to find out where she was.

Sorry, but out of all people that need to be ON TIME it's the DOC!

It's not a petty thing at all. I have a very unusual ceremony venue. The DOC I hired came to my house for the initial meeting (not a meeting at a restaurant as I did with some others I interviewed). We had a long discussion about her services etc. During the course of our meeting she said she would want to see the ceremony venue. After I signed the contract, we did just that - drove to the ceremony venue. That initial interview was over 3 hours, because we took the time out to do that!!!! At no time did she make me feel like she didn't have the time (and I'm sure she didn't expect to be with me for that length of time), or that her hubby or kids would be wondering where on earth she had gone and why she wasn't home, or anything like that. She was enthusiastic and interested in everything (which of course is why I hired her - besides just getting a really great friendly vibe from her, and liking her personally). Since then she has been extremely responsive to all emails I've sent, and kept me updated on everything, and followed through on each and every thing she said she would do.
