So I'm about to head into my job for the last time

and hand in all my stuff (laptop, ID, etc)

I'm actually still kinda okay, I'm just not sure how I will be once I see people (some that I've worked with for over ten years) ...

I'm sorry to hear this. I also have to do this next week (I've been here 8 years) so I can only imagine how tough it's going to be.

My effective date will be 12/31 ... good news, I am getting a severance package (not nearly as good as they have been in the past, but still better than nothing and this type of 'separation' is eligible for unemployment).

What do I do? Hmmm ... if I told you any one of my various titles from the past five years (they like to change titles), it still wouldn't make sense or it would sound like something completely different than what I did.

I'm going to take at least until the new year to hang & update my resume (that I haven't updated in probably five years). I don't even know what I want to do (except have a baby which is out of the question now) ... but I do know I will not go into NYC (the only internal positions that were a possibility were in NYC and I'm just not willing to do the commute at this stage in my life).

Anyway, let me get this over with ... thanks everyone for the kind words! And Donna, I will be thinking of you too!!
