but I feel like my dress doesn't have the NEW PAZAZZ that everyone else's dresses have because I bought it at the bridal garden, which means its a 2nd hand dress, and my money I paid for it went to a Children's Charity. Which at first I LOVED because I felt so weird spending all this money on the wedding, etc. and this was a way to give back.. but I sorta am worried that I'm regretting it...

.. I know I can't get a new dress.

So here is the reason I am writing to you all:

Is there anything else (details wise?) that I can add to the dress to make it more 'WOW'? Obviously my hair and make-up isn't done at all in the pictures in my album, but please share if you have any creative ideas! I really appreciate it.

Thank you. (And since these pics were taken, it was cleaned and steamed, and ironed perfectly.)

I have to say I didnt love my dress but when i had the hair and makeup done, flowers in hair, and jewlery on my dress was perfect for me! Dont worry, you are going to look gorgeous!

I really think it's so pretty, and love the new neckline and how it fits you. What if you ask them to add a very thin edge onto the neckline of the lace around the mid area of the dress?

Ok, thanks Gail. I'm hoping all those details (hair, make-up, flowers, veil (which is new), and jewelry will add to it.

And re: the lace - this is something I had wanted but the seamstress said it could take away from the middle part. I actually still have some of the lace from when I had my veil made, so you know what? I'm going to bring it to the next fitting which is in 2 weeks to see if I think I want them to just do it.

Thank you ladies!

You know, I have always loved your dress, and I didn't realize till now that it was secondhand! I think it's lovely as is. Just my opinion though!!!!

I got my dress second-hand as well and went through a short period of time when I felt awful about it and like I wasn't going to be a beautiful bride.

But I got over it. It was still MY dress now, and I loved it.

I'm sure you have details on your dress that are just beautiful, and you will look like a princess!!!

I think it's great and if you want more PIZAZZ you can do so with DOJ . Also, maybe an interesting flower in your hair etc...Accessories can really jazz it up. Like I have a dress with lost of PIZAZZ so I am going nuetral with everything else (no tiara or necklace).

I sometimes think I shoulda got a plain dress. It's the grass is greener..curly hair wants straight..KWIM?

I think your dress is perfect! The new top makes the difference for me!! I bought my dress on impulse at a sample sale and even though it is a Maggie I don't love it.
I'm sure once your all done up hair, MU,jewelery and flowers you will love it! BTW your veil is gorgeous!!

I think the dress looks so pretty on you. Personally i prefer a more simple gown like yours. However, if you want to dress it up, the only area I think you should do it to would be the bust area. Maybe you could extend the lace detailing all the way up or just as a trim, or maybe even add some beading or bling detailing to the trim at the top. I also think it will be gorgeous once everything else is done but these are just some things you could explore.
O and I've been looking for a veil like that. love it!

Thanks so much - I'm really happy with my veil. Gina from the Bridal Garden made it for me! it's the same lace that is on my wedding dress.

Honestly, I wouldn't change anything. I think the dress is beautiful and I think it's wonderful that the money you spent on it went to charity! I think that it's just a phase and once you see it with your hair, makeup and DOJ that you will love it all over again :)

i think its beautiful.....very romantic.... i wish i had tried on lace dresses before i ordered mine. I love my maggie but i also think its a lot more simple than others i have seen. I can't wait for it to come in in Dec/Jan to try it on again.... We will see how i feel then.... You look gorgeous!!!

Hey girl! First of all, I just want to say that you are looking SMOKIN! Congrats! You look terrific! Now onto the dress-it's stunning. It's absolutely gorgeous, it really flatters you, suits you, and is just beautiful!!! (ps your mantilla is SICK and that in itself will set you apart!) However I think that the lace idea is great, at least to try. I think if you do attempt to use the leftover mantilla trim, you should try to use really little. When I was picturing the top, I was picturing a really soft, thin, almost ruffle across the top. I think your seamstress makes a good point about possibly taking away from the middle band and bow, but I think it will actually tie everything together really nicely. I also think that if for whatever reason the lace/ruffle idea doesn't work out, the answer is a truly stunning necklace. I see more natural, like lots of hanging pearls...I'll look for some pics for you! You are going to STUN EM on your wedding day no matter what, so congrats to you! FM me if you have questions or need help with anything! I have some wholesale contacts with jewelry so I can help with that if you need.

Hey. . well you know that I got mine at the same place and felt a lot of the same things. . that it was plain, no embellishments etc and up until about a week before I HATED it. . I have said this on here before so don't want to be a broken record but literally I thought it would be so boring. . but in the end it was perfect. . I got to dress it up with jewelry and the back was so classy and well done and though simple the fit and structure made it perfect. . so you will love yours I swear. . I think it's gorgeous and a lovely dress. again, like you I was about ready to buy a dress the month before bc I was so depressed but I'm so glad I didn't .

honestly I think your dress is so classy and well made and suits you. and to echo everyone else. with hair/makeup etc. . you will be GLAM!!!

I dont believe that a dress has to have 'pazaaz' to be beautiful! Im sure you picked it because you loved it and thats all that matters

If you wanna spice it up a tad you could buy a beautiful brooch or something to add a little sparkle...
