see here's my thing.. and i totally get where all of u ladies are coming from.. both aspects.. but my thing is this..
i have coworkers x,y, and z.. they are married with kids.. i don[t' know their kids don't care to meet their kids and i'm sure they don['t plan on bringing their kids
i have cousin a, b,c i know their kids, love their kids and want their kids there
this i what i'm trying to manage.. now as for coworker x,y, and z being offended that they arrive to an 'adult reception' and see kids there... well i'm not to sure i care. they won't be anymore offended than coworkers m, n, and o who didn't gt invited at all.. :

I think you would be safer going with the '____ seats have been reserved for'.

hmmm... not to sound like a total biotch...
but if you don't care if you offend them... why are you inviting them at all? (Just meaning that i'm sure you do care about offending them, but in the moment it's not your top concern, right?)
the issue seems to be, if you put ADULT RECEPTION and there are kids there... you're essentially lying to your coworkers. Which doesnt seem neccesary. There are ways around that, will they still be offended? Possibly, but not because you LIED to them...
make sense?
If you talk to these coworkers often, you could also casually bring it up in conversation... something like, weddings are so expensive these days, i really wish we could invite the whole world, but space and $$ is limited... and then be like, it'll be nice for you and 'spouses name' to have a night out by yourselves though.
i mean, word it better than that, b/c that's sloppy... but you know what i mean right?
