Were you working with Vito? He left there quite some time ago and I believe he is with Westchester Florals now.

Also, my cousin used them last year and she worked with Virgil, he was amazing, her flowers were breathtaking!

I was working with Vito actually. I LOVE him. He knew exactly what we wanted. That's why I'm so bummed out! When we go down there today, I'll definitely ask about Virgil! Thanks so much!

Aww that stinks. I do want to second Virgil though! We didn't book with Pedestals because it was a little over budget, but my fiance and I both really considered paying the extra $$ just because we both liked Virgil so much in the one meeting we had with him.

I am working with Pedestals and my consultant is Nadia. I have & hope to NOT have any problems!
Everything so far has been very easy for me!

The same thing happened with me with Flower Michele....our consultant left and nobody told us (I found out through here)...it worked out because our new consultant is absolutely fabulous and I think he gets our concept better than our original one.

Sorry you are going through this, but I hope you have the same experience I did!

Wow that's rediculous! I've heard some not too great things about that place

Pedestals is a great florist and if you stay with them I am sure no matter who you work with you will be happy.

I don't get posts about how people have heard 'bad stuff' about Pedastals - I never have heard anything bad, I worked with them for my wedding and I have zero bad things to say about the entire process. Our flowers were gorgeous and we had an entirely positive experience. Don't worry!!!

I think the problem lies in the fact that you sign the contract with the florist and not the person - so Pedestals would have no obligation to tell you that an employee left as your contract is with the company and not the individual. I am sure it must be frustrating to them to have people stating they only want to work with one person when they have other equally talented people who work there.

Anyway, I'm sorry you're upset and I hope that this works out for you in the end, whatever way you do things.



ETA we worked with Robert and were extremely pleased with his work.

the same thing happened to us but we just used who they gave us when ginny left and our flowers were perfect

if u r talking bout vto..my friend used them and he is no longer there and she had virgl and her flowers were amazng so if u get him u r in good hands

I am so happy to hear that you had a good experience with them but if you google them online and look at other reviews (not on this board) you will see that there is a huge mix of good/bad reviews. That was one of the main reasons we didn't book with them, I was too worried about the negative reviews, and even if they don't out weigh the good ones, it's still a little scary to put your faith in a company that isn't all around across the board followed by a happy clientele of customers. They are from last year though so maybe they do not even apply anymore, but the mixed reviews are definitely out there.

Yeah, I do see some not-so-great reviews. I just wanted to let the OP know that there are also plenty of people who have had a positive experience! Especially since OP is already booked with them and her wedding is in 22 days - I thought it would be a welcome vote of confidence!

Personally, I didn't even care about flowers prior to my wedding. I really had no clue what I wanted. But on the day of, when I saw my flowers I cried they were so pretty. I had never (and have never since!) had such a girly reaction to something like flowers. DH looked at me like I was crazy.

Anyway, I digress. Just my two, BTDT cents!

Alright girls, so I just got back from my little visit with Pedestals! After blasting them for being unprofessional and not having the decency to give us a call after Vito left, they apologized about a hundred times. We are now working with a guy named Christopher (who I must say is extremely good looking lol). He went over our contract and our flowers, we made a few changes here and there, and we'll be seeing a sample centerpiece next week. He was very nice and showed us samples of his work (we were very pleased with what we saw). He even gave us his cell number so if we had any questions or concerns we could call him at any time. So it's all good now. I'm happy everything got sorted out
