Don't feel too bad. I work for a private school, but we're in Smithtown district and they NEVER EVER close for anyhting, so I'll be going to work tomorrow too. The difference being, I live way out in the middle of nowhere and I don't know how I'm going to get to Smithtown.

Do you have to go in even if classes are cancelled (don't the cafeterias stay open for the residential students?)? Unless the govenor declares a state of emergency I have to either go in or use a vacation day.

not really i dont have to go in but i been off since december 20th and i think they want me to come back tomorrow but if the roads are bad i am not risking it. especially on campus they do a awful job of cleaning up.

eta: I hope they do declare a state of emergency again they should with the drifts that makes it worse.

Me too! Hope so, but if it is really bad I'll just take a vacation day...To be honest I am almost looking forward to getting out...2 days cooped up and I am going crazy!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you, But You know as well as I do that East Meadow NEVER closes!! I remember growing up, every school around us would close, but them!! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and me too!!! Even though I don't think I am going in anyway!! The roads really stink over here!!

I was planning on calling in sick tomorrow . . . this is a great help to me!

My district still isn't and neither are the surrounding ones but all the district by where I live are! I already called my chair and she told me to stay home
