The longer-addicted LIW'ers are feeling lost....from what I gather from other posts and from what I'm thinking......so many new people, not enough names to go with faces!! Hi! I'm nicole....I got engaged in July but only joined in October....planning my wedding for 6-7-8, but I live in Philly (although both FH & I were born & raised on LI, and our parents live there as well)....so I'm doing it from a distance....so far LIW has been really helpful and kept me from pissing off nick (FH....and yes, you're right, that's nick and nicole) with wedding talk!!

Ive never formally introduced myself but what the heck, My name is Danielle Fh is Keith and we have a 14 month old daughter Dakota, we've done everything slightly backwards had the child first, booked our wedding date first and then he proposed if that makes sense! But we met while working with eachother. We're set for 8-1-08 at the east wind and am so excited!

I'm 24, he will be 24 in on 11/13....we have actually been dating since senior year of HS even though we went to colleges 5 hours apart...but I moved to PA for Grad school to be closer to him and now we're both in PA/NJ area....!

well, i' m not really NEW, but compared to most 08ers i am, and i didn't really post until now. and i thought 74 posts was a lot, till i checked out some of you other girls.
i am katleigh3's MOH, and she's mine. i'm sure you all know her, she lives on the boards. you guys got to see her favors and place card holders before i did!
ummmm about me? i'm 30 years OLD. i work as a graphic designer, a waitress, and a mechanic shop's receptionist. i take grad classes at hofstra toward my teaching certificate in Art. i live with FH in an apt in patchogue that we can't wait to move out of.....we have delusional plans of buying a house a month before our wedding (when our lease is up)...... i am a fantastic procrastinator (the opposite of my neurotic, organized and totally planned MOH)....that said, my wedding is june 6, and all i have booked is the hall and the DJ. before you all have mini heart attacks in my honor, i DO have a photographer picked out, we just have to meet with him again and try to talk $$. He promised to let me know if anyone with my date wants to book. Kat has put me on a dress deadline. (just started shopping in the last 2 weeks) so i have until this thurs, nov 1, to make a decision and order it.
my avitar is dumb, but there was a thread somewhere about not trusting ppl without avitars, so i just added one real quick....although i do love music and peace, so i guess it's not that bad. lol

I've been on here since like I think September?? I'm totally addicted.
I was first addicted to The Knot, but found this site better since it had such a local community vibe.
I'm Ally, I was born and raised in the Franklin Square area - North Valley Stream, I moved to NYC in 2000 and then to NJ in 2003 to be with my FH whom I met online. We've been together since 2001. We are marrying on LI because Mom wouldn't have it any other way. Kind of annoying since most of my friends live out here now. I don't really know many people on LI anymore.
Unlike most of the LIW girls, I have an LIW wedding site with photos and info about us. I just copied and paste from my knot page. Ha ha!

I have been on here for like 2-3 weeks, but my name is Lauren, I have been engaged since January. I love LIW it has given me so many ideas, and now I have other people to talk to about the wedding rather than the FH.

Hi everyone, I'm Debra, I'm 26 years old. I'm finishing up my PsyD in Clinical Psychology. I'll be done with it in about a month, as soon as I defend my dissertation. Shawn, my fiance, is 25 years old and just graduated law school. We met in college, been dating for six years, and been engaged for almost two (10/29 will be our two year engagement anniversary)! We're getting married at East Wind on 9/7/08.
I think that's about it. Nice to formally meet everyone.

Hi! My name is N (28) and my fiance and I got engaged on Aug 4th and our wedding will be on Oct 4 2008! We are so excited! Technically we are not a LI W couple since we are getting married in westchester BUT I use this site extensively (sp?)... whenever I am dealing with a question or need vendor help I log on cause you girls just know it all!!! Its a really great and friendly community! Thank you all for your help so far! We def use this site as most ALL of our vendors are from LI!

Hi, So my friend Katie (Katie&Chris2006) is a complete LIW addict (almost at her 6000 post!) She 'introduced me' on the BHB board, but since I'm an 08er I figured I'd post for myself here. I'm Christina (28), FH is Todd (30). We live together in NJ and are househunting here. I grew up on LI and he's lived all over the country so our wedding is near my parents in Woodbury. We've been dating since 11/04 and were engaged 7/14/07.
I can't tell you how helpful I've found all the LIW girls so far.

Wow, you must feel like you've been together forever! How is your planning going so far?
It's been interesting. We have our RH booked, our church, music and photo/video. I ordered my dress and now I am just casually browsng BM dresses. I wanted to actually take a little break from the planning now that we have all the major stuff taken care of. I'll probably resume after the holidays.
As for my OH SO LONG relationship, I guess you can say that we are eachothers best friends. I have to admit I did get pretty frusturated with our relationship taking so long to get to the next level, but now that I look back, I am very happy with the way things worked out!!
