So married girls...what were your lil snags...

our florist was late delivering the boks and bouts, and only delivered 15 cps to the hall... we had 16 tables. he's lucky he got the last one there before everyone went into the room or he would have had to deal with me sunday morning

....and i diyed the table #s and put the wrong numbers on them but the bm/ba fixed them before i noticed/realized

and we ran 2 hours late on hair and getting dressed

Someone on the BHB asked me why i regret not having a DOC... and basically all of my snags were because i had too much on my mind and couldnt remember everything...

1. My shoes for the day of... i had no intention of walking down the aisle in my flip flops... but i forgot to bring my shoes with me into the limo and i didnt realize it until we were at church... my dress was not altered for me to wear flip flops... it was altered for my shoes...

2. i forgot my 2nd dress... during the 20 mnutes that i was at the Cocktail Hour someone stepped on my dress and broke my bustle... and it was torture all night that i had to wear my dress becuase everyone else stepped on my dress during the reception and kept pulling out the pins we put in... if i had my 2nd dress i would have changed pretty quickly...

3. my programs and bubbles were left at the front door of the church rather than brought in and put on the table inside so people could take them... i had 90% of my programs left over... and there were hardly any bubbles being blown when we walked out of church...

4. I forgot my card box (birdcage)... this wasnt my fault actually it was my brother in laws fault... he was supposed to bring it with him from my sisters house and he didnt...

5. I also had a typo on my programs and if i had someone else there with me through the planning for the day of she would have caught it and we would have done the last minute stuff to correct it...

I forgot my sneakers. My blinged out converse sneakers that I DIYed!

Yes, by the grace of God this was the worst thing that happened on our wedding day! We were both amazed by how smoothly everything ran!

2 hours? thats a long time... what happened?

1. My veil flew off in the wind and there were no bobby pins to put it back in.
2. My shoes were killing me and I didn't have flip flops to change into.

I *think* that's it, everything else went pretty smooth

-there was cheap looking green fillers in my BM bo-ks. I had all over the contract 'NO GREENERY.'

-my mom's boyfriend of 15 years missed the ceremony because he was playing with my dog before he left the house and lost track of time . i wasn't upset about this since we don't get along, but i know my mom was pissed.

...and best of all...

-DH's brother (the best man) wore thick PINSTRIPES to the wedding. We went with him to pick out his outfit and he changed it so that he could stand out.

Not so much a snag, but I felt a little like I was being pulled in a million different directions. I meant to take my veil off after the ceremony but completely forgot. We took all our pictures with my veil on and I did the first dance with it on!!

One thing we did right was to have one of DH's aunts at the church for set-up - she was kind of like a DoC. She had a checklist with contact names and numbers and was also in charge of making sure the gms knew where to sit, confirmed the flower delivery, had the programs and lavendar rice for the throw. She really did a lot for us . . . I don't know who would have done it otherwise!! We had her listed in the program as the 'Greeter' and I think it made her feel special too.


ETA: Tuxedo Park said they would cut a normal size tie down for our rb, but, of course, they forgot. He looked really funny with this ginormous tie and, of course, the gms all had skinny ties, so it was that much MORE noticable.

The A.C in the car for my parents and I broke (we just took the limo to the church with the girls though)

In the Bridal Suite I sat in something with red sauce (luckily my awesome bridal attendants and DOC got it out!)

One of the guys was missing the hankerchief for his tux. They ended up cutting one in half so he had one.

The cake was wrong. The bakery put flowers on it when I had wanted the florist to put fresh flowers on it.

I didnt have a throwaway bo-k. I have no idea if it got delivered, lost, or what. I can't blame a specific vendor because I dont know what happened!

There were some slight problems with the hotel at our afterparty.

Honestly, all the problems were very small and did not affect my day!

we had a few but they all got taken care of:

1. my stepfather had the wrong tie so the guy from Bonaventure was awesome and sped over to the Woodlands to bring him the right one.

2. The valet didnt start on time so people were showing up and no one was there to park. It was only delayed for a short time so it worked out.

3. There was a little traffice so the 2nd shuttle bus from the hotel was a little late.

4. The biggest snag was with the Florist. The Pieces for the Ceremony were like dead and the Centerpieces weren't correct. We called them and they came over and fixed everything before the wedding started. Thank god for my DOC bc she really pitched in and helped them fix everything in time!

5. My wedding band wouldn't fit! I was sitting in the bridal suite before the ceremony trying to ice my finger, putting olive oil on my finger...anything to try to get my ring to fit but nothing was working so during the Ceremony DH slipped it on my pinky. Right after the ceremony my ring slipped right on!! It must of just been the nerves that made me swell or something. lol.

1 more that wasnt my fault... lol The tuxes were messed up... some guys had different shirts... and BIL's pants were too small...

chatting! it's ok though... we still left the house on time. i just figured everything so we would be ready and waiting for the photog to get there. when he got there i was getting my hair done so he took all the pics of the my shoes, etc. and then when i was done he took pics of me and my bms while my mom got her hair done and then we took pics with my mom

chatting! it's ok though... we still left the house on time. i just figured everything so we would be ready and waiting for the photog to get there. when he got there i was getting my hair done so he took all the pics of the my shoes, etc. and then when i was done he took pics of me and my bms while my mom got her hair done and then we took pics with my mom

ohh i was thinking someone showed up late or something like that...

ohh yeah we were chatty cathys all day... which is why i forgot so much stuff i think...

One more...the downside of a premium open bar-there were a lot of drunky drunkersons. And a scene or two one of them I was unaware of until the next day, the other one was at the end of the night and it involved me picking up one of my guests who had fallen because she was so drunky. Just a little snagaroo

wow thats insane...

We forgot to bring the RB pillows when we left the hotel. We noticed it as we were almost to church, so my limo driver stopped in a Catholic supply store around the block from my church and picked one up. Only that same pillow had a music box in it that played 'Jesus Loves Me' and once my RB figured that out, he was playing it through the whole ceremony

The ribbon on my FG's kissing ball broke as she was walking back down the aisle. She literally froze and didn't know what to do, lol. One of my guests picked it up and handed it to her and she was good to go again.

DH forgot to put the case of beer we bought in the party bus. But this was easily solved with a stop at a Mobile station in the middle of Hempstead. DH, our GM's and a few of my BM's got out of the bus in their tuxes and dresses at the Mobile station on Peninsula Blvd in Hempstead to go buy a case of beer

A couple of the boutonnières broke, but the wedding before us had very very pale pink roses and left some there. We made new boutonnières out of them, lol.

DH and I didn't have any money to tip the driver who brought us back to the hotel that night. Luckily one of our friends was outside when we arrived and lent us money.

I'm pretty sure that was it. In the grand scheme of things, not too bad.
