so my honeymoon will STINK!!!....

Original post by pinkstar025

I have fair skin and since i was, well BORN my mom has kept me out of the sun, always had a hat and sunglasses and GLOPPED the sunblock

Well now that I'm a big girl and can take care of myself IM FAILING!!

We went to Disney this past fall..and two days later (with spf45) i broke out in hives...anywhere my tanktop and capris didnt cover!
so after a few tears of morbid embarassment and kids asking their mommy what was wrong with me.....i was able to get control.
well....again 45 on sat and sun i am BURNT to no end...and my arms are COVERED in hives......it was better...but from diriving to work, the sun made it totally come out again.

My question is: how do i spent 10 days in St Lucia?!??!?!

also, antibiotics can make you very sensitive to the sun..

In addition to a possible allergic reaction and seeing a derm. are you on BCP? If so, this makes you highly sensitive to the sun and has caused me to break out in horrible rashes...I plan on getting off the pill, but until then, I too shall suffer the heat's wrath!

Holy crap..really...cause i wasn until last fall and that when this drama started!!

YES! I too was shocked to find out that the pill makes you highly sensitive to the sun. I was born with sensitive skin, the pill just messed me up, especially when it's humid! There are a LOT of downsides to the pill, some of them very common, it's just that doctors don't reveal them unless you ask. It's still a very safe BC method and I prefer it to IUD's (can't even imagine that one) but because it has hormones the body does react to it...everyone is different though. Def ask your doctor.
