Hey ladies, I hate to be a sour puss, but I just need to vent.
Is it just me or is there any one else who feels totally disconnected from their wedding planning?
I love my FH and I want to get married, but I am so not into the whole wedding plan thing. I guess that is why I don't post that often. I feel like these boards are for people who are really into their wedding plans.
My wedding is in little over 5 months and I have much left to do and no real desire to do them.

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
you don't have to be suzy-wedding-planner to chat on here! and don't think it's weird to not be super into planning... you might only feel that way because people tell you that you're supposed to be on cloud nine the whole time, but no one but a bride understands what you're going through. We all get frustrated and just want to throw our hands in the air and buy some plane tix to Vegas But don't sweat it. Just do a little at a time. And seriously make sure that you're planning this becase you want to and you're not planning/doing things because other people are putting in their two cents. for you! If it feels overwhelming and you need help... just ask!

I have felt the same way...I have some friends that thought planning their wedding was the best time of their lives and actuallt felt sad when the wedding was over b/c they missed the planning. I have not been into it all that much either. I feel that it is 1 day out of your life and I don't care to stress myself out over petty little details. i would have lovd to do a destination wedding witha few family members, but my FH is the first to marry out of his family and he wanted the big wedding, but does not participate in any of the planning.

Sorry but that is funny/sad. We wanted to do a desty wedding too, but it got voted down by family. Both sides feel we are the only of our siblings that will actually get married! So this is what would make everyone happy. I go thru phases. Sometimes I'm inot i and sometimes I am not! And you are always more than welcome here, this is for every bride, not just the super happy, totally into every detail, has to have the best of the best bride. Hope you feel better and if you ever need help just ask, I am sure a lot of use feel this way!

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
I just want to thank you ladies very much. It's encouraging to hear your stories and opinions.
I just spoke with a long time friend, she is not even in the wedding, but she felt my pain and was kind enough to volunteer some much needed assistance. I feel a little better. I just want to get the planning phase over with! I know once the day gets here I'll be completely happy.
Thanks again!

YESSSSSS - I'm so glad to hear this. I sometimes feel I'm not normal. I just want to get married and don't want all the stuff that goes along with the months leading up to it. i totally understand. I really do. I wanted to elope, originally, but the family vetoed it. I'm not a normal girl, but I'm glad to see that I'm not alone!!!! If you ever want to talk, I can completely relate.

If you are forcing yourself with every step, it really would be a wise investment to hire a wedding planner, and let them take care of it! Maybe then you will get excited about getting married, since the planning burdon would be lifted

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
My mother-in-law said to me a few weeks ago that she's glad I'm getting excited because she said I wasn't getting excited for awhile and she was a little concerned. lol I THINK it may have to do with the fact that your wedding is still a little ways away yet. I know I didn't start to get truly excited until a few weeks ago. I mean I've been excited but knowing that the wedding was still a ways away, I kind of kept it a bit under wraps so the time in between wouldn't be so painful. I think you'll feel MUCH differently, when you're actually starting to countdown the days like I am!

Same here!!! I have been So stressed lately that if it wan't for the amount of money we have out in deposits I would have cancelled the whole thing and eloped!!! Its A LOT OF WORK!!! TO plan a wedding, and as much as our FH say they will help out, THEY DON'T. It's ok to feel stressed, it's ok to not care about all the little details. In the end you are marrying the man who you love and THAT is what is important and what I keep trying to focus on!! Join us in chatting about our vents or silly little things or just supporting and encouraging each other in what we want for our wedding.
DON'T use this site to compare yourself to what you are or are not doing like everyone else. Every bride is different and unique, and the purpose of this site it to support and help each other in acheiving what each other feels right for her!!!

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
I am so glad to hear there are girls out there who feel the same way i do. I love my FH and want to marry him more than anything. But I am having difficulties planning my whole, huge wedding. I wanted to do a destination wedding with just close family and freinds, but it seemed that between both families and my FH they thought the traditional wedding would be much more practical. Now I'm less than 5 months away and have finally started getting on top of things. Thanks for re-assuring me and now I do feel beter!

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
dont worry im not that into it either. i pretty much used this site for some great suggestions and advice and then went to one or two places for everything (2 RHs, 3 photogs etc) and just picked. i cannot imagine going to 14 RHs or agonizing so much over everything (although i have been agonizing over the price of our honeymoon ). but yea, dont worry..youre not alone

This is great! I was really starting think that there was something wrong with me. It makes me feel so much better just knowing that other woman are having the same types of feelings.

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
I am totally with you. I feel like there is so much to do with having busy work schedule, 4 other weddings before mine (bridesmaid in one) and although FH rocks and helps with planning, I am sad lately. So much money, for one day...
I worry who will come to shower, bachelorette party...will friends come together for me now that it is my turn, I wonder?
BUT - I know when the day comes I will be smiling and happy to walk down that aisle to my guy.

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
im the same way i always say i wasnt built for this game lol. i mean honestly i dont care about flowers or limos or dressesand such this thing has taken a life of its own and is a far cry from what fh and i originally envisioned (eloping with a few friends/family around) its turned into a huge formal event and its not me, but i dont let it get to me that much and when i does then fh and i do something not wedding related , just us, to step back from it, you know. this past weekend we randomnly went shopping and happened into the place he got my ering and got our wedding bands, no appointments no schedule just spontaneous and it was probably the most exciting moment since he proposed...so you're definately not the only one that isnt 110% into the planning...

Re: So not feeling this wedding thing
I'm exactly the same way. It comes in fits and spurts, but I will tell you that while I'm excited for my wedding day - It def. won't be the end all-be-all --
My life is really busy and I'm the type of person that stresses alot, so I just can't get caught up in the wedding thing...
BUT you are still 5 months away and I think that you will get more excited as the months count down.
