I feel awful but don't really want to go to the wake. Is that horrible. I can do old people, but she was 21. I don't think I can handle it at all. There are five daughters and I have taught 3 of them......I am so sad today.

It's so hard going to a wake for a younger person like you said, but it will definitely mean a lot to the family I'm sure...

apparently she didn't feel well and thought it was too much time studying for finals. When she finally did go to the doctors, she had a massive brain tumor. Three operations later and she died of a blood clot.

oh my what a terrible loss, i'm so sorry to hear that. If you decide to go I suggest you bring someone supportive with you. i attended my 10 year old cousin's funeral 4 years ago and two years later when another 10 year old past away I couldnt' bring myself to attend that funeral either. I totally understand what your going through. hugs for you

One of my former students died this week too in a very tragic way. falling from the rooftop of his apartment in Brooklyn. I will be attending his wake and funeral. There are no words when something like this happens. That is why I feel that I will do what is within my power and that is to support his family by filling another seat to show he was loved.
