So Sad

Things were really put into perspective for me last week....my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly on Christmas morning. As you can all imagine, my FH and our entire family is devastated. I am so sad and cannot believe that he will not be there to see his son and I get married. I can't even think about planning our wedding right now and am even thinking about pushing the date back. It will just be too sad knowing that he was so excited for the wedding and that he will not physically be there with us.

All I can say to all of you future brides out there, don't get caught up too much in the little things that don't mean much in the end. Your wedding day is not about the right flowers or having perfect weather or any of those little things. It's about having the people that mean the most to you there to celebrate the love you have with your spouse and the beginning of your new life together. Cherish each day....

Just needed to get this off of my chest. It will be a rough road ahead but all we can do is take it one day at a time....

This is just awful. I'm so sorry for loss All I can tell you is to be there for FH and the family.

You are so right. We get so caught up in wedding plans that we forget to realize its a joyous occasion that we get to share with our loved ones.

I think FFIL would want you guys to proceed with the wedding and I would do something very special to honor his memory.

Its true that we get caught up in the small things when what matters most is the people on that day sharing with you.

I truly am sorry about everything you and FH family is going through. As long as he has you by his side making sure he is ok.

awww sooo sorry for your lost.
I can defintely relate to this...My friend of over 18yrs past away on New years and I know the feeling. It is devasting even though I knew that things were not looking up for her and she may pass away I had hope that she would get better...In my mind I always said miracles do happen. My condolences to your family and please know that he will be right there with you guys on your wedding day and would want nothing but a perfect day for you. We have to remember that before someone's tomorrow is taken away, cherish those you love, and appreciate them.

I am so sorry for you and your FH. You are so right...we all get so caught up with all the meaningless stuff that sometimes we forget what the wedding is really all about...family, starting a new one and celebrating with the family you love. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your loved ones.

I'm so sorry for your loss, that's terrible. My best friend went through the same situation. Her FH's father passed away from cancer a few months before the wedding and they had to postpone the wedding. It was a difficult time but they got through it with the help of their friends & family.
Your wedding day should be celebrated with those you love, the little things do not matter at the end. Your FFIL will be right there with you, watching over you.
