Fh called me downstairs with a concerned voice and he said one of our dogs was dead. Her name was bernadette and she was the absolute best dog in the world. I have been stressed for the last two weeks and she has played and smiled each day and helped to make me feel better. We have no idea why this happened and it is so strange b/c our two babies (bernadette & buttercup) have been so healthy.
I really don't know what to do. Buttercup won't have her big sis anymore. I don't know if i need to get her a companion. Opinions?? i'm still in shock.

That is so terrible, I am so so sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is so traumatic....you are in my thoughts.

Please know how much my heart goes out to you!
We have 2 dogs also, both sisters. I do not know what I would do if one passed on. They are our babies!!!
The only thing I can think of to maybe help you feel better is to remember that we mourn for them much longer than they do. They live in the moment and begin to move on after 3 days.
Maybe when you two have had time to heal it may be nice to adopt a pup from a shelter or a no kill shelter and know you are saving a life, in the loss of your baby.
I'm so sorry again and not to sound pathetic but I will be saying a prayer for you tonight!
