So Sad These Past Few Days....

So I posted a few times that my 87 year old grandfather was ill because of prostate cancer and anemia. He had been in the gospital for blood transfusions and had gone home. Now he had an infection in his foot and was not walking for a week so they sent him to rehabilitation. When I spoke with him yesterday he sounds like he's giving up. The cancer and anemia are wearing on him.

My wedding is 3 months away and I would be devestated if he was not there. He calls me his daughter because he only had 1 son (my dad). I feel like its my fault because FH and I have been together for 9 1/2 years and maybe we waited too long to get married....

It's not your fault!!!!!!!! Don't feel that way!!!! He loves you very much and if he knew you were feeling that way he would probably be very upset with you.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's so hard to watch a loved one suffer.

I think it's just what happens sometimes when you are older, life is just so hard. I really hope things get better for your grandfather soon though.

So sorry to hear that, but don't blame yourself. There is no way to foresee these things. As long as he knows how much you love him, then thats all that matters. I'm sure he wants you to have the most amazing wedding and wants you to be happy. All you can do is love each other and try to stay strong.
