I have been in contact with someone that was booked at the Atlantica and is now being forced into moving to the Allegria...how unbelievable are these people????????????????
Apparently they're closing in 2010?

wow that's completely shocking!! we just had our wedding there in june and it's so completely gorgeous... maybe the owner is moving and someone else is going to buy it? i can't imagine them closing it. it's so completely perfect for a wedding! :o(

I was scheduled to get married there November 6, 2010. Apparently the owners of the Bath & Tennis Hotel tripled their rent for 2010 and they can't afford it. She said they are going to try to work something out, but as of right now all weddings are cancelled. So now I'm back to step 1

I bet this was the plan all along when they went partners in the hotel...like I told you Ashley, my contract said 'Atlantica at the Allegria...' I bet they stayed there until they officially opened in Long Beach and are going to do the reverse of what they did to me!!!!!!!

I am in the same boat I was scheduled to get married there on October 1.... at least I am still a year out... I can't imagine if it were in april... at Least I didn't have anyting printed yet... but ***** back to square one - especially since I had this booked since FEBRUARY!
I have the photographer and band - and don't wan't to change the date - AHHHH.
I have appts this weekend at Montauk Yacht Club, the Pridwin in Shelter Island, and am calling the Rams Head inn in Shelter Island... does anyone know anything good /bad about these places?!
So sorry for everyone else that is booked there... I was so in love with it.. but no way in he** am I going all the way up the island to their other location! I live in Sag Harbor!!
*ugh* so frustrated...but FH calmed me down and said that this is a blessing in disguise that we can start over and rethink the size of our wedding (to make smaller more personal) - but still *****.

My friends got married at the Rams Head on Shelter Island a few years ago. It was beautiful but a bit of a pain to get to because of the ferry.
It was an amazing wedding though!

Oh no. For those mentioned above getting married in 2010 at least you have some time to look for a new venue. Also, talk to your vendors that you booked already I am sure they will understand. You may even get a discount on some venues since you are booking closer to your wedding day. Good luck.

Wow. I'm surprised and not surprised all at the same time.
Out of respect for girls here who had booked them and are now SOL, I'm really sorry you're going through this, and for girls who did have weddings there, not to offend... but we had an awful, AWFUL experience there this year at a wedding, and I would never recommend the place to future brides as a result. Girls who had to be moved....please try to view it as a blessing in disguise.
