Apparently they're closing in 2010?

I am so sorry to hear this girls. I have to tell you I loved Atlantica, the look, the location, everything about it. My parents took me to Tierra Mar when I was about 20 and I said then and there 'this is where I wanted to get married.' I actually ended up choosing Lands End in the end but it was a tough decision. I hope you all find the perfect place.

when i looked in 2007 , they told me they would be closed by summer 09, so they made it thus far...

Thats terrible if they knew that. Although I shot a few weddings there a few years ago and was there this last year to look for myself I did notice it wasn't as pristine as it had been in the past. So I guess it doesn't shock me. How can you do that to girls though? Don't they realize girls that want a West Hampton Wedding don't want a Long Beach wedding. Makes you wonder about a company that operates that way.
Oops typo... fixed

wow... well, despite that, i didn't think my wedding wasn't pristine...
i'm so surprised at how insensitive certain comments are on this board sometimes. ...
either way, i'm sure all the couples that aren't being treated good by this company will find exactly what they want and more. best of luck![/QUOTE
Sorry I didn't mean it to sound insensitive. I loved Atlantica. And I love your wedding pictures, it looks beautiful in them. I still almost had my wedding there, I think I told you how much I loved it when we met at the Cheesecake Factory. I loved the food, the place, the location. I just meant that I had been to Atlantica several times over the years, especially in 2004-2006... between my mom taking my there and when I was doing wedding videography and everything was 100% perfect... and not to say it wasn't still great, but when I went to see it for my wedding you could see they were not doing the little things I could see they did in the past. It was still amazing, but my point was that it did seem like they knew the end was coming.

oh no, don't be sorry. someone else had just said something earlier too and it just feels bad to hear negative things about a place you got married and were in love with and stuff. luckily for me it was so perfect from day one and they blew us away for our wedding. i think everyone is trying to make all the people getting screwed by atlantica feel better (and rightfully so)... i just don't want people to be negative for those of us that were not screwed. (if that makes any sense)... no worries :o)

As if I wasn't disgusted enough by their behavior with me, this puts it over the edge

Honestly, if I were you, I would go looking at other halls and if you find something book it and demand your money back from Atlantica! Better to learn this now and be safe then sorry!

I am in the same boat I was scheduled to get married there on October 1.... at least I am still a year out... I can't imagine if it were in april... at Least I didn't have anyting printed yet... but ***** back to square one - especially since I had this booked since FEBRUARY!
I have the photographer and band - and don't wan't to change the date - AHHHH.
I have appts this weekend at Montauk Yacht Club, the Pridwin in Shelter Island, and am calling the Rams Head inn in Shelter Island... does anyone know anything good /bad about these places?!
So sorry for everyone else that is booked there... I was so in love with it.. but no way in he** am I going all the way up the island to their other location! I live in Sag Harbor!!
*ugh* so frustrated...but FH calmed me down and said that this is a blessing in disguise that we can start over and rethink the size of our wedding (to make smaller more personal) - but still *****.
I used to work at the Shelter Island Yacht Club & I can tell you the Ram's Head is a little nicer & has much more of a scenic view. Pridwin is good too - just not much of a view. The food is good @ both places. All the staff at the Yacht Club used to go to Pridwin for lunch or for after hours - so either way food-wise you wont be disappointed. HTH.

Re: So--the Atlantica is CLOSING?!?!?!?!?
Hey ladies...I just read through the posts and I'd like to say that my wedding for November 14, 2009 (yes this year) was cancelled by Atlantica. It has been an absolute nightmare. I was told October 6th, 2009 and I just found out that Ginny Jacobs and Atlantica Caterers will not be paying for any overage fees. I have been forced to send out new invites (my first one's cost 5000 dollars) and I had to change my ceremony and venue within 5 weeks of the wedding. Please don't book with the Allegria! Regardless of it's beauty, the people that run Atlantica Caterers are not nice people. They are not doing right by my wedding and the wedding that was affected on November 7th, 2009. We are scrambling for last minute details and now my wedding is costing me 20,000 dollars more! I am actually having it at the Inn at Quogue's restaurant, Restaurant at the Inn. Dee, the owner, has been great and she is putting up a tent. We are doing the rehearsal dinner there too. All my guests are staying at this hotel and I am now looking at as a destination wedding for my guests. The food is fantastic and better than Atlantica, and if all goes well, I will recommend this spot to all the brides affected by the Atlantica in Westhampton. Please please do not book at the Allegria! These people are horrible. And it seems as if they are accustomed to moving weddings. They had to move a ton of summer weddings in 2009 from Allegria to Atlantica because the Allegria was not finished. I can't believe they do business like they do. Also, they just got a really crappy review in the NY TImes for poor service and not so good food. Vote No for Atlantica at the Allegria!
