So Upset!!!!

I don't know what to do!!! I was so happy with my choice of reception location and now I keep reading these reviews of the GWM and although some are good...quite a few a pretty bad especially dealing with the cocktail hour. As of now the room I'm supposed to be in for the CH is the room everyone is complaining about that its too small. I called and I have an appointment to speak with my BM at the GWM to find out if it can be moved...but the person I spoke to on the phone said it wasn't possible since its December and most likely the bigger room will be booked with a holiday party. I'm so upset cause I don't want anything to go wrong and usually there is an outdoor patio that people can go on during the CH but its a night wedding in December ...everyone will be packed in like sardeens. If this isn't resolved I'm ready to go look at other places. Maybe I'm over reacting...but its upsetting to read so many negative reviews. I'm going today at 4:30 to speak to the BM. Please keep your fingers crossed that this can be worked out.

I agree. There were some VERY negative reviews of my hall, and I was FREAKING OUT. Crying and stressing and not sleeping and thinking about forfeiting money we already paid!!

But recently there were a couple of really good reviews and I think it's all a matter of taste and the mindset of the people there. I mean, let's face it, some people are happiest when they are miserable and only see the negative.

Just remember that the people that will be at your wedding love you and will have a great experience because it is your special day - not because of the hall!!

Thanks everyone. I just got back from my hall and things went ok. As of now I can't have the bigger cocktail hour room since its the holiday season they can't hold it since the room will most likely be booked for another party. Jeanine that Im working with is great and she was very reassuring. If the room doesn't get booked than I can have it...but I won't know that until the week before my wedding. I don't know what to do at this point. I guess I just have to hope for the best. Thanks for all the positive comments.

You should FM AliciaHelene. She got married there in the winter- I don't know how many people she had.

Everything will work out. You hear good and bad reviews about every place. I told you my sister got married there and I thought the cocktail hour was incredible. They had the more expensive one though but it was worth it. Try and find out about the other room. Its not that the other room is too small, it is just that everyone wont be able to sit down. Its only an hour. Let me know how it goes
