Re: So upset...
Yeah, I don't get the whole 'stealing thunder' thing. My sister and I may get married within weeks of eachother - like 2 weeks possibly if we go with Labor Day weekend and she stays with late August. She was engaged years ago - way before me. I'm 4 years older and already into my 30's (a.k.a. - ready to have a family already) and have a house with my FH for 2 years already - it's silly for either of us to wait b/c of the other. She has her reasons for chosing her date (which falls on my stepson's b-day - but again, she doesn't have to verify with anyone and so what - it's the day that works for her and that's all that matters) I have reasons for chosing mine. If people aren't able to go to both weddings that is not something you should worry about. I got a little flack for that too, but I don't care. You know how many times in my life I've been invited to friend's weddings that were close together? They were friends from different circles - even in different states - but I still made my best effort to be there and I was in school at the time too. Should my friends have all confirmed with eachother even though some didn't even know eachother to make sure that I could attend. Thunder ends eventually, b/c what if you wait and they get preggo? Then that's going to be the big deal. I used to worry about these things, but when you get into your 30's and all the sibblings in both families are in relationships and in or pushing their 30's this sort of thing is something you learn to accept. If your younger I can see waiting, but I still think it's silly to get bent out of shape... I like the comment about planning with the other family member and sharing the experience.
