So upset....

My rehearsal dinner is Thursday night and I don't think I am going to be able to get FH a groom's cake like I wanted.

I called a bakery (one that many LIW brides have used) over the weekend to see if they were able to make a NY Giants jersey cake. They said no problem, come in and place the order. They do them all the time. I go to the store with my mom on Monday. They tell me I need to bring back a picture of what I want the cake to look like. I explain to them that I already spoke to someone who told me they have done them in the past, they have pictures in the bakery, and they never mentioned I needed a picture. I look through 4 albums and of course no picture. Before I leave they promise if I bring back the picture the next day they will do the cake for me. I go home and go back today and bring them a picture. The man tells me they dont know if they are going to get to it b/c shortly before me someone placed an order for a helicopter cake. I am sooo upset! I went there 3 times and they promised me the cake. They are going to call me tomorrow to let me know if they can do it!

I already posted on the vendors board and contaced Audreys, the Chocolate Duck and Sugar Coated to see if they can do it....but it is in 2 days now. I dont know if anyone wll have time to do it!

Good luck! Did you get anything in writing from themsaying they could make the cake? You were there first - it's not fair for them to say they can't make yours!

Try this place they made my cakes (shower, grooms, and wedding cakes) they are amazing and less money than audrey's but better tasting we thought- people are still asking us where we got ours and a few people have used them over the years. They bake for many of the north shore country clubs

They are a small place but they might be able to do a last minute cake. They did a yankee cake for DH.

Call Audreys again! I didnt even go in once! I called them on the phone, told them what i wanted and my MIL picked it up. I paid by CC over the phone. Ask them if they can have it done in time. At this point you may have to pay extra?

If you cant have one for the RD you can always ring it to the reception like I did.
