So upset!

So yesterday, I was watching My Fair Wedding with David Tutera. I love watching his show. I get so many ideas from it. I start to watch the show where he asks the bride to get into her wedding dress. When she was about to walk in the room, I was thinking her dress would be something different. When she enters the room, she's wearing the dress that I HAVE! David then goes on to say that the wedding dress is 'outdated and horrible.' I was so upset. My FH was sitting next to me. I'm sure he wasn't paying attention to the show; however, I had to hold back my tears so he wouldn't suspect anything. I'm at the point where I don't even want to wear the dress. The dress is an Oleg Cassini from DB. For the fact that a person that everyone knows on national tv says that my dress is 'outdated and horrible' makes me so upset. I have been researching different dresses this whole morning. I don't know whether I should just keep the dress I already have or start dress shopping again. If I decide on another dress, I have to sell the DB dress. My sisters are saying that I should just wear the dress that I have because it's a beautiful dress. What do you think I should do girls? I feel like I'm so upset and confused!!

Just relax, and put ur dress on again so u can know that THATS THE ONE U WANT TO WEar... bc U LOVE UR DRESS...

Some of the things that he does are way over the top. I was just in complete shock after he said that though about the dress.

Omg...I'm so sorry! That would've crushed me too. I haven't seen your dress but I'm sure you fell in love with it for a reason - I'm sorry the show made you look at it differently!

The plus side is that you do have plenty of time to choose a different dress if you want but really think it over and see if that's what you REALLY want. Do you hate the dress now? Why don't you try it on again? Logically, I don't think anyone else would see you a year from now and remember this episode. They would just think you look gorgeous but I would be so stressed out I personally would just get another dress

A similar thing happened with another LIW bride where David bashed her bridesmaids dress/color on an episode! She decided to keep it I think but she was so upset as well.

i agree. i wouldn't let what he said bother you. who does he think he is - the wedding god?! there was a reason you picked it and that's b/c it's gorgeous and looks amazing on you.

I agree, if YOU still love the dress, it's all that matters but if you can't wear this dress without hearing David's stupid comments- it would ruin it for me too

Ok first let me say this.. David Tutera is great and all but he sometimes picks wedding dresses for those girls that I think look AWFUL!!!!!!!!! He is not the Wedding Gown Expert... If you got that dress its because you loved it and you loved the way it looked on you! Im sure you FH will think you look GORGEOUS in it!!!!!!!!! I know your probably upset but try to get it out of your head.. Besides A lot of brides arent looking for a modern and chic new style gown.. Lots of Brides still love the timeless traditional and even vintage look! They are all BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! Please don't worry! I wish I knew what you dress looked like so we could all reassure you! idk sometimes, like last night, the dresses he picked for her--- were terribleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
omg they were terrible, the 2nd one, she tlooked like a stripper in a white dress--- i wouldnt listen to him. i watch the show, not religiously, but i watch it

and honestly, who the hll cares what he says? seriously--- dont stress at all

you totally fell in love with your dress for a reason

go try it back on, youll feel fine afterwards, i doubted mine for a bit, and once i tried it back on, everything was fine

I think the dress is nice. I don't think it's really outdated. It's solid ivory with embellishments. Usually I don't really care about what others think; however, it was on tv where people watch all the time.
