So weird & sad....Prayers..

So i just got a phone call about a very old friend (like Elementary/JrHigh) that i havent spoken to since about that time. We used to hang out at my house & then at his house etc. Other then once in awhile seeing him out & chit chatting & catching up we have not been in each others lives in a very long time. The news i received is that he killed himself. He actually hung himself. I dont understand why these things happen or what possibly could go through ones head at that time. Its so weird to me that this person used to be in my life & then out & now not even among his family or friends. I dont know if im making sense right now. Im just kind of sad & upset all in one. At him at myself for not staying in touch etc. I guess im asking to just pray for his family & friends to get through this difficult time.

Wow that is terrible! I am so sorry this happened. I lost someone very close to me in HS. He was my best friend. He was 17. He also hung himself. There is nothing in this situation that you should be blaming yourself for. We never really can know what is happening to a person when they are thinking about doing this and then actually carrying out this horrendous act. Suicide is a very difficult thing to deal with. It leaves those of us left behind no one to blame but the person we have loved and lost. I am praying for you, for his family and friends. Let me know if you need anything or want to talk. That's awful! I am so sorry to hear this. I myself lost a lot of friends from my high school and had a difficult time understanding why these things happened and asked myself questions and what if. My thoughts and prayers are with you and him & his family.

oh that is so sad. My prayers are with him and his family. But you cant blame yourself for not staying in touch either. Sometimes our paths are meant to cross for only a certain amount of time and thats it. Then we move on and meet new people. I wonder what could have made him feel that he had no other option than to kill himself. Truly sad

Thanks guys. Im still freaked by it all. Its such a shame what a great person he was. I thank you all his famly will really need all the prayers they can get. Its such a difficult time for them.

I know how you feel right now. One of my 12 yr old students hung herself this past April. It is so confusing. It took awhile to come to grips with it....

That's terribly sad.....I hate hearig news like this, i'm tearng up jsut reading about it and imagining what his famiyl and friends must be going through....you're all in my thoughts and prayers

Vicki, I am sorry for you loss... Things like that are so horrible and sometimes really hard to deal with. My prayers go out to his family and to you!

wow thats terrible!
in 2006, i had 2 people i know commit suicide in the span of 2 weeks
one was a co worker, one was my best friends boyfriend...its a sad thing, dont know why they do it....

That is terrible, I am so sorry for your loss.

One of the things all of my grief books told me after my mom died was to allow yourself to have been human when you reflect on times that have passed.

I could have kicked myself for every time I mouthed off to my mom or something but that is not healthy. You are human. People go in different directions. It's ok. You could not have prevented this.
