Soaking labels off wine bottles

Has anyone done thing before. We're using full bottles as a second favor at the wedding and I am trying to figure out the best way to do this.

Re: Soaking labels off wine bottles

My fiance took a garbage bag and placed it over a crate and put the bottles inside. He then filled the bag with water. He now says in retrospect that all you need to do is run it over warm water for 2 minutes and it comes right off but I just thought that takes a lot of time. He got it done though. Good luck

Re: Soaking labels off wine bottles

You could try Goo Gone. Its a sticky residue remover. A little bit works a long way

Re: Soaking labels off wine bottles

Soaking them usually works and then nail polich remover for the sticky stuff. Then make sure you rinse them.

Re: Soaking labels off wine bottles

Windex with ammonia. It's how I got my registration sticker off of my windshield last week to put on the new one. Just wet the towel, lay it over the label to soak the paper and then scrape. It even gets the sticky glue off.

Oh and for heavy duty stuff, try WD40.
