so...I think...

so...I think...

I'm booking 2012.

I just can't deal with the stress of worrying about $ anymore :(

It sorta sucks but if I'm committing to a wedding, I'd rather worry less.

Tonight, we're sitting down and talking about it. I'm taking away his debit card. I'm serious. He spent almost $350 in 2 days! Meanwhile he's so stressed about $ it's not funny but he doesn't have the ability to save.

I set up a separate bank account ( I already have 3 lol) for the wedding and I'm having it automatically taken out every paycheck.

FYI this is why I pay all the bills! geez.

I'm still staying w you girls cause I love you all!

Awww. Good luck either way. If pushing it back will save you a ton of stress than its definitely worth it. Either way you better not abandon us on here though

nah I'm staying.

The sad thing is that I already have all my vendors picked out really lol.

The stress is killing me and I'd like to sleep at night. I even asked him if we could elope and he got this sad puppy dog look and I shut up.

You really need to do what you think is best for both of you and if that means pushing the wedding back so you have more time to save than that's what you should do.

But if you do move to 2012, You better not be going anywhere missy! I want to see daily posts on here from you!

You do what you have to do. What if you did a say time wedding will it save you more money? The grounds there are gorgeous so it may be nice to get to see it during the day?

If its not cheaper than it makes sense to push it but will you get a cheaper price if you book now for 2012?

The sad thing is that I'm not really sad about it though. I mean, I feel stalled and a bit frustrated and bc I;m older I have going on but really, I'm not sad.

I told Anthony that and he said, 'You don't want to marry me.' and again puppy dog sad face.

I do. I just don't have his need of the big bash like he does.

I told him we should just have a baby lol.

Re: so...I think...

well you have to do what works the best for you. I stress bc i see everyone really enjoying this process and bc we are so financially strapped i feel like i worry so much about that aspect that im not FULLY enjoying it.

This planning can really get away from you if you let it. I say all the time to my FH that i want to do things as cheap as we can so im trying to find ways to still love it and be budget conscious.. I hate making decisions so far in advance bc im constantly changing my mind about things. It is too much money to not be happy with your decisions u know!

Re: so...I think...

Also for the amt we are paying for a wedding we can have a house so its a big decision to make. I'm not about all the glitz and glam i want a nice wedding but it doesn't need to be over the top- its not who iam.. Im not showy in any way. Of course i like nice things but im happy with the simple stuff more!!

We had this same issue until we felt 'why wait?' We will be 31 by the time we get married and I didn't want to have kids at 36+... so we just had to cut down a lot. We cut our list from 110 to 75.. that meantsmaller room/hall, less favors, less decorations, less invites, etc...we also JUST starting saving for wedding expenses..had to cut back on birthday celebrations, fun things during summer, etc...there will christmas for the young ones only..

If you can cut back and have a smaller wedding, tough job but really what's important to you? you can have all the nice things that you too both want...without having all the hoopla

But make sure it is what you BOTH want.... compromising is key!

the sad thing is that the wedding isn't important to me at all. We already have a house. It's all about FH. He's Latin and has a huge family. He wants the wedding.

I wanted to go somewhere amazing for 2 weeks, get married, explore...

he said no.

my side of the family is mexican and i have a lot of family... a lot of cousins are not invited because if i invite one thats like 25+ ppl i have to invite...

he wants the wedding but he isn't budgeting for the both of you, well he needs to get his act together.. lol

Re: so...I think...

well maybe you can compromise in some way- still have a wedding but not go overboard so its the best of both worlds. He can still have his wedding but then not have as many people so you are happy to..

Is he dead set on Lands end? bc there are other places less exp on the water that are just as nice.

You deserve to enjoy this experience. If pushing it off will make it less stressful, than I say do it.
