Some good news....some bad news...

Original post by Claud2001

First, my good news....my OB said with MUCH certainty that I DID, in fact, ovulate this month.

Now, the bad news....I am doing horribly on my low carb/PCOS diet, and I gained about 4 lbs. in the last 5 weeks!

At this rate, I don't know if Paul will actually ever have a sibling!

Big hugs sweetie.

I think the nutritionist is a very smart move, you don't need to do this alone.

So sorry, Claud!! How frustrating.

I know exactly how you feel about the 'weight thing'!! I did so well on WW preparing for Sean and then gained 60 and lost only 30... I just feel like I'm back where I started.

We're planning to TTC again after the New Year and I have no willpower right now!!! I know that I have to lose some weight (LOTS) before I get pg again.
UGH.

Sorry my response wasn't very helpful to you.

Claud!!!
Have you tried not eating a heavy dinner? It may be harder, but may help a bit.

Perhaps try having a carb breakfast, warm lunch (i.e. dinner for lunch) and then a snack for dinner (yogurt, apple, some peanut butter and Jelly)?

This works for me to maintain weight. To lose it I need to constantly exercise. But if you are usually eating dinner, and will be effectively skipping it, you will lose some weight...

I agree that WW is hard and I hardly lost anything while on it.

Hey Claud,

I know what you are going through. I also only ovulate using Glucophage. I have also been trying my best to locarb, but it is just not for me. I am actually on my first round of clomid and hoping to have some success with that.

I continue to think positive and I say that my road to being a mommy may be bumpy and have road blocks, but at least I still have a road.

Even though it may be hard and we have to do some extras we should not give up our hopes to conceive.

Ovulating on Metformin is still ovulating and that is great news. I was going to say, our own Jen is having a little Metformin peanut but she beat me to it.

Claud, as with any challenge, there are good days and bad. It is not all about will power, either. You just have to be realistic about how much you can accomplish with each step so you are not always feeling like you are failing. Success breeds success. So focus on each success - rather than what you could have done better, quicker, whatever. And if you don't remind yourself of it, we definetely will! We are behind you.

Alina, you are such a sweetheart! Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, that will not work for me, b/c I am insulin resistant. I MUST avoid as many carbs as possible - including white flour, sugars, high fructose corn syrup, etc. My problem is NOT that I don't eat a balanced and healthy diet - my problem really is the way my body processes sugars/carbs. Basically my body is acting as if there's going to be a famine - and storing everything I eat as fat.

The low carb diet is really a way to re-program the way my body uses insulin and burns food for energy.

And Jenn I love ya, sweetie...and I know your Lima Bean is a Met baby. I wasn't knocking it...just wondering if it's really helping me right now.

Thanks to everyone for the encouragement...it helps to have a support system!
