Some news in case anyone cares.... (Bonnie, Karen and Kim M - I know you guys do)

Most of you know I still haven't booked a place either and if you've seen my RH list you know what I've been going through...

Anyhow, I narrowed it down to two places - Bridgeview and Lands End. Was leaning towards BVYC b/c of the humongous price difference.

So, mom, FH and I went to see BVYC all dressed up for a wedding (with CPs and everything). Mom didn't like the drive so we're going back to look at Lands End all dressed up this Sat. I am super-dee-duper psyched b/c I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lands End. Please keep your fingers crossed for me that mommy likesy.

I am in the same boat as you and totally understand!!!!! Good luck, Lands End was beautiful when we went there!!!!!

Jen, i've heard amazing things about Lands end- i would've looked there but its too far for me- i've only heard great things! let us know how it goes on sat!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm deciding right now btwn there and FF...i think we're going w/ FF but we're bringing the parents out to both...

My fingers are crossed girl! You know how I feel about Land's End, and I can tell you (because I worked there and saw many-a wedding there) that it's absolutely gorgeous all dressed up!

for those that are bringing your parents to look, is it because they are paying for the Reception???

My father is giving me 10k for a wedding that will cost 40k+ i do not feel he has any right to go and look and decide about the hall, when hes barely paying 1/4 of what its going to cost.

I personally didn't have my parents come and look at my halls (they live in Florida), but if they still lived on LI, I would have brought them. They are graciously paying for a part of it and I feel like they should see how their money is being spent. I understand that you feel like they're only giving you 10K, but to me (and probably others who are paying entirely for their wedding) thats a BIG chunk of change! I probably wouldn't have changed my mind if they hated the place, but I would have liked for them to see it before we booked... I'm also just really close with my family, so I want them to be a part of the whole process.

Jenn - I am PUMPED for you. I know deep down you want to have your wedding at Lands End. I hope it all works out. You didn't tell us though - how did BYC look all decorated?????

My parents are contributing a ton but I brought them along because I always like to know what my parents are thinking and I like to include them in stuff like this. Luckily, my mom and I have similar taste.

I brought both sets of parents along for a few reasons
1. my parents will help pay and i would like their opinion for that reason
2. even if they didn't help I would still want to hear what they think about everything
3. i brought his parents becuase although they are not paying they will hold the special title of parents of the groom and i want to know what they are thinking
4. as far as food tastings go i could bring up to 4 people plus me and FH so why not include em all!!!!

I went to a wedding at BVYC about a month ago..honestly the best wedding I've ever been to...not only was the food and service outstanding...every single person danced all night long!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
