some prayers for the parentals please

My father has not been to a doctor since. . maybe twenty - twenty five years ago?

My mom hasnt had a full gyn exam since AFTER SHE GAVE BIRTH TO ME and she hasnt been to the doctor in TEN YEARS.

They are almost sixty/in their sixties!

So, my mom has severe pains and instead of making an appt for NOW she makes one for both of them for next week bc she knows that is the only way my dad will go. i am SO NERVOUS about them going. . .especially since i bug them so much about it!

I am just nervous they will go bc i made them and then they will find something - and you know how people get sick bc they discover what they have? ugh.

Hopefully everything will be fine and you can relax. At least they are going now and can be fully checked out and get any preventive treatment they need.

Well, its good that they are going now, they are probably fine...Its soooooooooo important that they go on a regular basis, I cant even begin to tell you how many years can be added to their lives if they do so. It makes me so upset to see patients that lose years because they are afraid of what they might have to face.

Awww I totally understand. My mom and dad are the same. They didn't go to the doctor for years and after that time my mom started thinking she didn't want to go because it has been awhile and she was afraid they would find something so that put it off even more. Finally they both went and everything was fine with them. Don't worry, I know its hard right now but they will be fine I am sure.

I am sure everything will be fine! It must be a thing of the 40's and 50's...a lot of my female relatives born during that time do not go either regularly. Me, I call before I'm due to go in!
