Someone Spray-Painted my Truck!!!!!

Someone Spray-Painted my Truck!!!!!

I noticed it while I was at my Mom's house today.
Red spray-paint on my silver truck. It's not enormous, maybe 8 inches high, 6' wide (it's like a squiggle), but I'm really PISSED!

It must have either happened last night (I parked it on the street in front of my house, which I never do), but we live on a VERY quiet street, I'm talking SILENT, in a very safe neighborhood.
OR it could have happened at Roosevelt Field today (but I was only there for like 1 hour in broad daylight @ 11am!).
So, how do I get this crap off my car?
Any tips before I start my phone calls?
OYE!

I can't believe that!

I think you're supposed to call insurance...call the cops too, make a claim.

I'm so sorry! If there aren't any scratches, they can probably easily paint right that area. When I used to commute into the city, someone scratched an obscenity into the front of my car! I needed a whole new hood. Anyway, I wouldn't report to insurance since it probably wouldn't pay to raise your rates for the deductible.

Holy crap!!! That totally sux!!!
I would guess Roosevelt Field but you never know.

MANY years ago, our VW bus was completely covered with grafitti (how the heck do you spell that???) and I know we used something to have it removed (meaning, I KNOW my dad did NOT take it somewhere to have the entire thing repainted).

Good luck!

You can also get the car detailed and most likely it will come out. My FH has a shop if you need a recommendation.

my SIL's parents had swatstickers (how do you spell that???) spray painted on their mercedes in the summer. You have to get it detailed. They think it was some kids playing around because her parents are irish, I don't think they were profiled for it. Her parents felt terrible though even having to drive it to a shop to be fixed.

The father didn't even realize it until he was in a parking lot and someone said something to him. It was on the passenger side and he got into the car from the driver side and didn't even see it.

Andrea, I don;t know if it's worth it to call the insurance company. They may raise your rates and if it's only going to cost $100 - $150 to fix, it may be worth it to just pay it cash and hope it doesn't happen again.

That suxs!!! I'm so sorry. Definitely call a shop. They can probably recommend a detailing product to remove it. I know my husband uses prep sol to get rid of excess paint but you need to be very careful with the application.
