So yesterday I met with Jennifer because my nerves are off the charts. I am the first bride having my reception in the Somerley and its a few weeks away! When I went, all i saw was a huge tractor, cement and thats it!!!! My father keeps telling me that its not going to be ready and from the looks of it, it does not look like anything is really done BUT Jennifer assured me that the hard part is over and that it will be ready by the end of March. I am almost thinking of changing my room to the Garden Terrence. I don't know if i want to be the first bride ( i have written too many posts ). Should i change my room or just wait and wait as usual and hope what was promised happens? Any advice would help. I want to be able to walk in the room and come up with ideas and feel the energy. Its so hard to do that with the mock video. Am I being too paranoid? I mean my wedding is nine weeks away! Did you hear anything?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. They should maybe shave some money off for putting you though this stress or maybe throw some extras in in my opinion. The ball is in your court so try to get something out of it for the incovnience.
My day was great at the Fox Hollow. I hope yours was the same & think possitive

Re: Somerley Brides at Fox Hollow
Hi, I am also a Somerly bride, our wedding is in September of this year. We have been dealing with Bruce and he has been wonderful. I find it weird that they told you the room would be done in 2010. We booked with Fox Hollow in September 2010 and from the very beginning Bruce told us it would not be done until March 2011. He did tell us certain stages of construction would be done in December, but he never said the room would be fully done. I also spoke to him about the room not being done or completed the way we were told it would be and he told me that basically that can not happen because Fox Hollow has a repuation to maintain. Something like that can cause a lawsuit which they definitely dont want! I am sure the room will be done, at this point, the deposit has been made, the other rooms are booked, and theres nothing that can be done. Stressing out about it isnt gnna help, you dont need bald spots on your wedding day! lol (that actually happened to my BFF).
Good luck!!

Well dolls,
I went today and i feel like i should mention that i went to see the Somerley! Yey! We were given a tour. Work seems to be going pretty fast. There is a roof and all the french doors are up. They are going to now put the floors, moldings etc. We met with Mike from Operations, some BMs, construction workers, and the Exe. Chef. Everyone greeted us and took the time out to give us a tour of the inside so far (the Somerley) and provide us with information. Somerley brides, the space is huge and we are having a little lounge area connected to the reception room. It seems to be coming together. Mike if you read this, thank you for taking the time to ease my worries! We are excited. Thanks ladies for all your comments and advice! We are content so far, now. Somerley brides you have nothing to worry about. The room is going to be beautiful. I def feel better. Thanks again ladies. I will no longer complain and hopefully the next time i write about the Somerley, it will be my wedding day review and it will be all positive.

That is great news! We have been dealing with Mike from the beginning. He was wonderful with us and we really liked the personal attention he gave us each time we were there. I can't wait to see it in person.

I'm so happy it all worked out!!!!
I had a similar situation regarding our reception room. We went 2 weeks ago and it's done.... Thank goodness! I was stressed out for a while too.
I hope they continue to make progress. It will be perfect on your day!!!!

Re: Somerley Brides at Fox Hollow
Construction can go quickly when it comes to finishes...usually. As an architect, I know that things can be delayed at any time.
I would have them add into your contract that if the room is not complete they will accommodate you in another room

I say stay in that room. If all else fails you'll have it in another room if your room isnt ready..BUT I have faith in the Scotto Brothers company that it will be ready.
GO FOX HOLLOW BRIDES...lol I'm cheering.

Oh, i didn't know they were 1 at a time. Are you sure about that? I'd contact immediately just to make sure this is an option.
this! i would def start discussing with the RH about your back up options so you feel safe and secure in case something does not work out. it should not be hard for them to discuss other options that are still available and open.
but beware sometimes when they say only 1 or 2 weddings at a time it does not mean that the other rooms are available. they might be used for showers or parties (which they get away with bc it is not being used for a 'wedding'). i know one RH in particular (not Fox hollor) that does this.

Hey brides!
Aw, thanks for thinking of me. Yes, there is some news! They are 85% done. My wedding is in eight days but they have already done most of the work. All they have to do is put down the floors and work on the garden area. They are also working on the bridal suite. My compensation is lots of extra food (lobsters etc). You know at this point we are ok with that, as long as everything runs smoothly. I will share what i see on Saturday! Thanks for asking!! I am still extremely nervous.
