Somerley pictures are up!

The room is absolutely gorgeous! I saw it last week at the bridal showcase.

How many round tables do you guys think it would fit comfortably?

I was a little bit confused on the setup of the room. Where would the DJ be set up? Also, for cocktail hour, I understand they use a divider to split half of the room with the room that is connected to the Somerley? I couldn't get a straight answer at the showcase b/c they were so busy.

I saw it set up for a wedding and they had set up I think either 15 or 16 round tables. The room set up is your choice. The bar can be split into 3- 6 foot bars or 1 12 foot bar and one 6 foot bar or you can have 1 larger 18 foot bar. The bar is movable so you can put it anywhere in the room. The Dj set-up is also up to you. The way I saw it being set up was that the DJ was going to set up along the far wall that has the upolstered treatment with 2 bars next to it. If you look on the Somerley's page on the Fox Hollow website you can an example of the room can be set up for a reception.

They do use movable divider walls to split the reception room so that it can be used as overflow for cocktail hour. Once cocktail hour is over they are rolled out of the room to open up the space for the reception. I think the walls are about 6.5 feet high, so they block the view of dining area but still allow you to feel like you are in a large space. They will also set up high-top tables in the area of the ballroom for cocktail hour.

Just curious, when was the showcase? And what did they have there? I'm an OOT bride, but I would love to be able to go to one. Hopefully they will have one over the summer!

Does anybody know if the uplighting they show in the pictures comes built in the room? The pics I saw only showed it on 2 walls, and 1 of the managers mentioned to us the room would have special lighting...

I think the uplighting in the picture was done specifically for that wedding, but I do remember my BM saying they were going to install LED lighting for the room. HTH

I went to see the Somerley the other day and met with my Banquet Manager.

Yes there will be special uplighting in the room but it is not done as of this past week.

No problem! I am curious what it is going to look like too...but whatever it is, will probably look great!!
