Last year I went to a wedding that had table numbers and I sat at the table that had the highest number. I noticed that we were last on the list for things. They had a buffet and we were last to go up and get food, etc. I don't like the idea of numbers because I feel that people are placed in an order, like its a popularity contest lol
Maybe it is because I am a math teacher but this really bugs me. FH and I was discussing who would sit at 'Table 1'. How can we decide if it should be his parents or mine, so we are trying to think of something else besides table numbers.
So my question is.... Can you think of something else besides numbers? I am not having a themed weddings, just black white and fuschia colors.
Suggestions please.

Re: Something besides table numbers?
It is hard when you don't have a theme
People have love in different languages
County names etc but if you don't have a theme i don't know what you should do

how about places.. like places ur travled or places ur went on dates...
example
table labled:
vegas france atlantic city etc etc
you could do this with anything really, and there could be pics instead of numbers
you could do colors, jewels, whatever

Jewels may be cool... Only problem is everyone will be jealous of the people at the diamond table! Hahahahah. But that's a cute idea. All of the ideas so far are cute - places, jewels, love in different languages, etc. Hmmm I will try to think of more.

Maybe words like: love, trust, faith...? Or I heard someone mention on here once that they were going to name the tables after famous couples in history.

Re: Something besides table numbers?
A friend of mine is doing places special to them both. They are having a table named the restaurant they had their first date, their high school where they met, vacations spots.. ect.... then on each table she is going to have a card or letter or something telling why it is special to them, with a story or something.
I think it is a great idea bc it is really a conversation starter for people who don't know eachother to well.
I also really like the idea of Love in other languages!!

We're doing the places also. I thought that was a lot cuter than just #'s. Only thing is I might so alphabetical just to make finding the table easier
I could see some of my guest...I passed Great Adventure twice

Re: Something besides table numbers?
We are doing phrases from conversation hearts (too cute, hot stuff) because we are getting married on Valentines Day. Could you do places you went to or things that have special meaning to you. I know someone was doing a skiing table because they loved to ski and then writing a little story about it.

Re: Something besides table numbers?
honestly if you are not having a buffet it doesn't really matter. because then no one is waiting to get the food. when u have a sit down dinner all the table numbers are for are, so guests know where to sit & so the servers know what tables they are serving.
as far as who goes at table 1 its, the brides family.

Re: Something besides table numbers?
Is there something both of you like? For example, a sports team: name the tables after players..or if you travel- after countries you've visited..
