Is everyone having something new, borrowed, old and blue on their day? Is this a necessary tradition? If I don't follow it - will something bad happen?
I haven't even thought of it, and normally it's not done in my culture, but was just wondering if anyone else is not doing it...

im not following it. i dont think something bad will happen. my mom said the only thing that will bring me bad luck is marrying the wrong person! so i think i'll be okay :)

I think there's only two traditions that we are following
1. Not seeing the groom before the ceremony 2. something new, borrowed, old and blue
I know both are pretty old fashion but I really like the idea of both :)
Guess it totally depends on how you feel about it

we are following it because I am not pushing fate anymore than I have to!
something old-lace from my mom's veil that I am having sewn on my hankerchief
something blue- my undies I got from VS that literally have 'something blue' embroidered on them
something new- my dress and shoes
something borrowed- my veil

i am a very superstitious person but that isn't why i am doing it... i think it is cute... and def not seeing my FH before we get married because i want the first time he sees me to be when i am all dressed and walking down the aisle... that is a must have photo of his initial reaction
new- dress (as well as just about everything else)
old- no idea yet
borrowed- not sure yet (might try to borrow a blue ankle bracelet from a friend to meet my blue too)
blue- the VS underwear i have says bride in blue- but i might do a blue ankle bracelet
