something special for FH at wedding?

My FH doesn't dance so I was trying to think of something I could do/rent for him at the wedding that he would like but would not take away from it. Is this stupid? Has anyone done this or thought about it?

What do you mean? Something that involves dancing? Or just something special for FI? You could do a custom made garter belt, a groom cake, a cigar roller ... I'll keep thinking.

I think that would be a little weird. What would you plan to rent? My FH doesn't dance, but we are going to take dance lessons before the wedding. I am making him dance!!! The rest of the time he will just be hanging out and talking to family and friends.

I don't know what I would want, that's y i'm so confused. We're going to take dance lessons too, hopefully he likes it and I won't have to think about this. Grooms cake is a good idea too! Thanks girls!

I know some people hire entertainers to come to their wedding -- impersonators or school mascots. Is this what you are thinking?

I guess something like that. Just something that he (we) would have fun with that wasn't dancing.

Does he follow local sports or did he go to school locally you can see if you can a mascot to come out.

What does he enjoy doing? What would he enjoy seeing.

Some interesting things I have heard about:

A dragon dance (think Chinese new years)
Ethnic music played at cocktail hour
Bride or groom performing (singing, piano etc)

he LOVES sports, but i don't think I could do something sports related that would involve everyone.

Honestly... At most weddings actaully ALL weddings I have been too... I have only see the groom dance the first dance, and the mother/son dance... Mostly the Bride is dancing with the friends and family and the groom is hanging out with the guys.

I wouldn't worry about it! He will know everyone at the wedding... I am sure he will be fine.

Good luck!

Yeah, me too. Several of the men in my family love cigars. I wonder how muc it costs to have a cigar roller?

Info on cigar rollers ...

The Little Cigar Factory has a few places on the island. However, when you go to their website they don't give you any phone numbers, just an internet form. So we filled it out and no one contacted us. So we went to the store in Massapequa and spoke w/ someone who said that the person who books weddings would call us on Monday - and that was 2 Monday's ago! No one has ever contacted us. Long story short, we don't trust them w/ our wedding.

However, we have spoken w/ someone at the East End Cigar Co. - who actually used to work for Little Cigar Factory and put together the wedding package for them. He is cheaper also - $800 (after a $50 gift certificate that he sends you) (versus $1000 for Little Cigar Factory) for an hour and a half of cigar rolling. 100 cigars - half of them rolled there, the other half he brings b/c it takes a few minutes to roll each cigar. 2 people go to the wedding, 1 rolls the cigars, the other one puts custom labels on them, clips them and teaches your guests about cigars. Here's the contact info: 631.754.6639, 246 Larkfield Road, East Northport, NY 11731. My FI spoke w/ the guy and said that he was very nice and helpful, and is sending us a few cigars to try out. It's definetly a cute idea if you have a few extra dollars to spend.
