Something that totally pi$$ed me off......

Original post by babybug631

So DH's cousin recently got engaged. His FW wore sweatpants to my ceromony. Yes, you read that right, sweatpants. I would LOOOVVVEEEE to wear sweats to her wedding, but I don't think I could bring myself to do it.

Would you ever sink below your standards to spite someone?

That's insane! But you should wear what you planned on wearing to her ceremony, because that means you never stooped to her ridiculous level.

SWEATPANTS?????? that is so inappropriate!

I could never do that!! and I definitely think you shouldn't. no one at their ceremony will know what she wore to yours, and you'll just end up being embarrassed.

that would have pissed me off though! don't blame you for that at all!

I usually just think up all kinds of fun ways to spite people.... but then I end up being too much of a wimp to go through with any of them!

Oh, I definately won't be wearing sweatpants. I just wish I didn't care enough so that I could.

Wait, she wore sweatpants to your ceremony? Not to the wedding, though, just the ceremony? Who cares? I wouldn't have even noticed if someone was in sweatpants at my ceremony. And anyway, how does what someone else wears to a wedding affect anyone else? I mean, should you dress up for a wedding, yeah, I guess so, but who really cares?

i don't think i would notice what others are wearing to the church. and if they want to look a fool, be my guest. and i've seen plenty of people at church ceremonies in pants or jeans, but they usually change before the reception.

I was suprised at some of the attire that was worn to my church...

Wow! That's just crazy! I would imagen that she would have been embarrassed. Not classy at all. But I wouldn't sink to her level. I would just go in what I would normally wear to a wedding instead of being class-less like her.

I wouldn't wear sweat pants but I would wear something fabulous and get my hair and mak-up done!

OMG! That is just wrong of her! I can def see you wanting to wear sweats to her wedding, but you are better than that! Don't stoop to her level......besides, who knows how many people noticed how tacky she was.......you don't want people saying the same about you!

Maybe she just got off work and came straight there??? Maybe she wears sweats to work???

I don't know... I am just trying to be nice.

Honestly, I wouldn't care. I have worn jeans to MANY ceremony's due to the fact that they are Friday weddings and I come straight from work in the city and usually am running to make the church. Maybe I was wrong in doing so but I always changed for the Reception... and also I thought they would rather me show up in jeans then not show up at all.

Even if someone wore sweatpants to my wedding, I couldn't ever do the same at theirs. I couldn't even bring myself to wear sweats to a restaurant, let alone a wedding. Don't make yourself feel uncomfortable, just to spite someone else.

if it was just the church i dont see anything wrong with it. unless she wore that to the reception then that a different story

Honestly, I think that it is rude to wear sweat pants or any ultra casual cloths to ANY part of a wedding. In fact it makes me mad when people were ultra casual cloths to the church, I was always raised to also wear my Sunday best to church or any place which is considerd a respectful place. Proper clothing should be worn to each part of the wedding as a sign of respect. How hard is it to put on a nice skirt or slacks anyway?

If a person has to wear 'casual cloths' to a church becuase they just came from work and had no time to change, then it is ok, however they should respectfully stand to the back.

Don't spite her. Be the better person. She was very rude. Now you show her how classy you are! Have fun at the wedding!

I wouldn't wear sweats to her wedding, but do it to her bridal shower! Why would someone do this in the first place???
