Son still fussy.... opinions please.

Son still fussy.... opinions please.

I had the week off, and at first it started nicely, but ds got even fussier, which I didn't think would be possible. I tried calling the doc this morning but she wasn't in yet. I'm curious as to what you ladies think... maybe you have some experience?

Matthew supposedly has eczema. When he gets flare ups, we have a hydrocortisone cream to put on him, otherwise we put on at least 3 times a day, aquaphor, due to dry skin, plus the eczema. It is the worst on his ankles, that is really one of the only places we ever really 'see' it. Regardless, he is ALWAYS rotating his ankles, like they are itchy, or rubbing his feet on his ankles..... all day long. Do you think this could be the cause of his fussiness? Would a dermatologist give him something orally possibly?

Also, ds was said to be 'a bit anemic' in the hospital when he was born. Am I wrong in wondering, even though everything he eats has iron in it, that this could be a problem?

I honestly don't know what to do anymore. It breaks my heart and my spirits are way down, because he is so unhappy. Lately the only thing that stops him from his whiny/moaning/crying fits is if I put on Baby Einstein..... but I can't have him in front of the tv all day long. Why would he stop when this is on? Does it get his mind off the itching or problem? Or is he just a fussy baby who wants what he wants? I am just so down and confused and feel hopeless and helpless. Opinions please. Thanks.

I don't have a lot of advice but I have lots of hugs for you. It is hard having a fussy baby...hopefully in a few weeks it will pass...

I'm so sorry this little guy is uncomfortable. It would definitely be worth your while to check w/a dermatologist. Anything to give some relief to both baby and mommy

Thanks ladies. I spoke with the doc and she suggested we go see a G.I. doc to rule out other issues. Hopefully I can get an appt soon and figure out how to make my son happy!
