SONGS

DO you have songs that really get you emotional..?

I am not just talking about a sad songs that you find sentimental...rather songs that REALLY gets to you everytime you hear it (almost to the point you can't listen to it) ?

That Christmas Shoes song during Christmas time. I can't listen to it. I have to turn off the radio.
And of course Butterfly Kisses.

Re: SONGS

'In the Living Years' by Mike and the Mechanics I think. That song kills me... reminds me of when my grandfather passed away.

I don't know the name of the song but it goes like this ...

What did you think, I'd do at this moment ... yada yada yada ... Faced with the knowledge with tears in my eyes.
I'd kiss the ground that you walked on baby, if I could just hold you again ...

I first heard it on Family Ties ages ago and every time I hear it I get tears in my eyes.

There is another one, it's an old song, it was in the movie shrek and also was on the West Wing when CJ's secret service agent was killed in NYC.
'Alleluhah' is the chorus, don;t know the name though.

Found this online
At This Moment
Billy Vera and the Beaters

What did you think
I would at this moment?
When you're standing before me
With tears in your eyes?
Trying to tell me that you -
You found you another,
And you just don't love me no more.

What did you think
I would say at this moment?
When I'm faced with the knowledge
That you just don't love me?
Did you think I would curse you
Or say things to hurt you
'Cause you just don't love me no more?

Did you think I could hate you,
Or raise my hands to you?
Now, come on you know me too well.
How I could I hurt you,
When, darlin', I love you?
And you know, I could never hurt you, ooh, ohh, ooh.

What did you think
I would give at this moment?
If you'd stay I'd subtract
Twenty years from my life.
I'd fall down on my knees,
Kiss the ground that you walk on
If I could just hold you again.

I'd fall down on my knees
Kiss the ground that you walk on, baby
If I could just hold you -

If I could just hold you -
If I, if I could just hold you
Again.

Re: SONGS

Hallelujah

I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew you
She tied you
To a kitchen chair
She broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe I've been here before
I know this room, I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
love is not a victory march
Its a cold and its a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

There was a time you'd let me know
What's real and going on below
But now you never show it to me do you?
Remember when I moved in you?
The holy dark was moving too
And every breath we drew was hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Maybe there's a God above
And all I ever learned from love
was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you
Its not a cry you can hear at night
Its not somebody who's seen the light
Its a cold and its a broken hallelujah

Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
