I know many of you have seen what my e-ring looks like but for those who haven't - it has a really high setting! FH went with my older brother to one of his friends jewelers and FH got a really great deal on my ring. He basically paid for the diamond and got the setting as a gift which was really awesome and we were so thankful!
A few times people have told me they thought my setting was too high but the ring is insured and I always figured it was fine - well...I was wrong. Last night FH I went to hug FH and my ring got caught on the hood of his sweatshirt and BROKE!!!! The basket of the ring literally broke off from the band - I couldn't believe it! My ring is in 2 PIECES!!
I'm so upset! I called my brother and the jeweler that we got the ring from isn't in business anymore so I can't even go back to him. FH called a few places and they basically said they could sod the basket back onto the band but we're running a high risk of the same thing happening again - everyone suggested getting a new setting.
I feel naked with out my ring and I'm so upset that this happened. Sorry this was so long. Vent over

omg that's so awful, i am so sorry! but thank goodness you ddin't lose the stone!!
i know you talked about selling the band, but maybe you can see how much it would be to mount it on a chain to have as a necklace, for the sentimental value?

Oh no Ash!!!!! I'm sooooooo sorry!! Luckily you didn't lose the diamond! I just know everything will work out. If you need a jeweler, you could try Good Old Gold in Massapequa. They are really good!
Again, I'm sorry about your rings casualty!

Ah, nightmare!!!!! At least you have insurance!!! If you need a jewler let me know. My band was custom made as well.
