I've been rarely posting pretty much since the g2g last week. Thursday afternoon around 3:30 i started getting heart palpatations and couldn't breathe. The breathing thing passed after about 10 seconds. My co-workers called FH (he was at home) and told him to come get me and take me to the emergency room. LONG story (and night) short, it's hyperthyroidism (which does explain all the symptoms i've been having, incl the palpatations, but i still have to see a cardiologist to be sure).
When I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that my hair was breaking/falling out, someone mentioned that I should get my thyroid checked. Well.... it took a scary situation to get me to have the tests done, but thankfully now I know what is wrong with me and what's been up with my body lately. I'll be visiting an endocrinologist on tuesday morning.
Oh, and for a second there I really thought it might have been the dirty martinis from wednesday night hahaha.
Anyway, thanks for listening!

Re: Soooooooooo.....(long)
Well, at least you know what's going on with your body. This is something that runs in my family as well and as long as you know what you have, then it's controllable. I wish you the best of luck with everything and let me know if you ever want to talk!!!

Sorry to hear that. I'm glad you’re ok. What sorta tests did they do? I am just curious b/c I have been experiencing similar symptoms.

Thanks girls
Well bc i was in the ER they did an ecg and a cat scan. the cat scan showed nodules, which prompted them to do the blood tests that check your thyroid hormone levels (or something like that).
I have also been tired, but sometimes energetic like in spurts, crankier than usual, depressed, and have lost weight (more than I should be by exercising).

Re: Soooooooooo.....(long)
Well I can totally understand....I have hypothyroidism, which is the opposite of hyper, but they both can cause hair falling out and breaking.....once they put you on meds...you should be better.
