And in the meantime, i find that drinking hot tea helps. So do abrasive foods, like granola. I guess it scrapes the mucus off when you swallow.

Have you ever heard of something called a Neti Pot? I'm not normally one for natural alternatives (i pop advil cold and sinus all the time) but my doc recommended this for my awful sinus infections. You mix this salt with warm water in the pot (looks like a genie lantern) and the mixture goes in one nostril, through the sinuses and out the other nostril. It draws everything in your head out....you're supposed to do it in the shower, but over a sink is fine.
I know it sounds weird/gross but they are awesome. I even got FH to use one when he had a stuffed head...really works.

Personally, I like Sudafed. They have pills for regular allergies, and also cold/flu pills.

If you are draining you need an antihistome and NOT a decongestant (which will only make you drain more) so stay away from things like Claratin D, Sudafed, etc -try plain claratin - that should dry you up.
BTW Mucinex is for loosening phelm in your chest - so if you have post nasel drip this will only make it WORSE (unless you have a tight chest then I would take this) as it loosens it and makes it more liquid so you can cough it out of your chest.
If you have a dr - call and see if you can get a Rx for a nose spray and maybe allegra which would help a lot.
Etd to add I had severe sinus problems for MANY years until I had surgery about 2 years ago. I would go between tight and then loose constantly so I learned what to do from my ENT over the years.
Honestly nothing works as good as many of the Rx's out there - I do take claratin sometimes before I got prescriptions with my insurance but it doesn't work nearly as good as allegra. Nose sprays work well too. Don't use afrin - it can be addictive and people who use it end up with worse problems than before they started.

Wow!!! thanks for the info! The mucus i get occaisionally gets stuck in the back of my throat, not my chest....i will try some of those suggestions.

Flonase...works like nothing else...gotta get a script from the doc first...but if you call, I'm sure they will prescribe this.

I have taken them ALL, Flonas, nosonex, Allegra, calritin, zytec, clarinex, astelin...nothing works anymore. Allegra was working really well for me and now it just stopped! I need to go back to my allergist. I'm just suffering so much now. I took dimetapp overnight and that seemed to help. Thanks so much.
I am dumb...I did 2 nebulizer treatments, cause I figured it would replace the bad stuff with good, but in the end it's just MORE stuff to drip...yikes/
