Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

FH is totally down in the dumps, he's been looking for a second job and stressed out about money and worried about me (still waiting to get my surgery approved, don't ask I'm pretty frustrated myself)

So any idea's on a special something to cheer him up??

Thanks girls!
~Jen

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

Maybe you can plan a special evening in, cook a romantic dinner, watch a movie, etc. It wouldn't be expensive, but might calm him down a bit. good luck!

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

whenever i'm stressed or sad i always find that doing something outdoors cheers me up... it makes me forget about what's bothering me for a while and appreciate being alive. so how about going for a walk in the park, or something for halloween like pumpkin picking?

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

Maybe a 'veg out' night would be appropriate. Rent movies order some pizza and just become a couch potato in your pj's.

I love those kinda nights after like a rough day or something. Makes me just relax and not be so consumed with whatever may be bothering me.

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

My FI just had a week where everything was getting him down so we went to an orchard about 45 min north of NYC. It was awesome - the drive was so scenic with all the leaves changing and they had a cute country store and pumkin picking. They also had a corn maze and some cute inflateable rides for kids.

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

Food and back rubs...!
Let him pick the movie to watch!
Cook dinner in black underwear and an apron-nothing else.
Make a fire if you have a fireplace, get coozy.
Write him a card.
Stick a sticky note in the medicine cabinet so he sees it in the AM!
Cookies for him to bring to work.
Pack his lunch.

Some of these are silly, but might be fun. Just be extra thoughtful, so many ideas will come to your head that are close to free or free!!!!

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

I think the best medicine is to be positive yourself...try not to worry so much youself and it might rub off on him. Sounds dumb, but just like laughing.....it spreads! Everything works out the way its meant to, and that won't change no matter how much you worry. Keep your chin up, things always get better!

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

Well, I'm the postive thinker, he's the worrier, it's just his nature (He is sign is Cancer..all water signs tend to worry..lol)

He just wants everthing to be settled soon, so we can move forward with the wedding plans, it's like everything is on hold until we know what's going on.

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

How about a cheap day trip that you totally plan?

I am a Cancer, I relate, and I was stressing a few weeks ago. FH surprised me with a day trip upstate apple picking. It was so wonderful, relaxing, and fun time together. Nothing expensive, no overnight.

Good luck. This can all be so stressful

Re: Sorry NWR but I need some idea's..

Its simple, but a really good massage always cheers my guy up. Buy some great massage oil and treat him to a full-body massage.

ETA: FH and I joke about his 3 favorite things...we call them the 3 B's...back massages, breakfast in bed, and well...use your imagination for the 3rd one!

The massage is a good one. They have these new message oils at Bath and Body Works. They're aromatherapy and I believe one of them was de-stressing. The even had one to help relieve PMS (not that that would help your FH, but just thought I'd share ).

Edited, because I spelled 'massage' with an 'e'.
