Re: Sorta strange invite question
I would send the invitation to the girl and have it read for her and a guest... you know she will bring him as a date and would end up rsvp'ing anyway

Ooo really? i wouldnt put and guest if they are a couple and they know both of them now that can be a very sticky situation.
I had this happen to me and let me say i was PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dh received an invite and said and guest, uhmmm we were engaged but even if we werent i'd still be upset. I know other girls on here who got that too and were pissed off. ESPECIALLY since they know the guy, i think he will feel like he wasnt being invited, and that she can bring whomever she wants and they dont care if he comes or not.
SOme of his friends i didnt remember the gf's last names, dh said to just put and guest and i said NO WAY!!! i made him call each and every one of them and find out the girls last name. Luckily this was just a few of them

I would ask them which they prefer. I would also prob send it to the girl bc guys can be in la la land when it comes to rsvps.

ITA!!! I made sure to put the bf or gf's name on the invitation if I knew for sure they were in a long term relationship. I get upset when FH gets invites that say ang guest, esp. when they come from his family
IMO, If you know the significant others name, you should def. put it on the invitation.

The rule is... if you are friends with them both and they each would have been invited whether or not they were dating, then they should each get their own invitation.
Even though FH and I were on the verge of getting engaged, whenever our friends, who were friends with both of us, got married we got separate invitations. Even FH's brother's girlfriend is getting her own invitation.
I agree.

Re: Sorta strange invite question
do they stay at each others homes? if so i would send 1 invite to whos house they are at most with both of their names on it. but if it's a huge problem and if you have extras i would just send each their own and addressed to just them no and guest.
the girl would get one addressed to her and the guy get one addressed to him.

lol I think that is your best bet. Just ask them straight out and this way you'll have no worries. They'll appreciate that you were even concerned enough to ask. I prefer for ppl to ask rather than do something i dont want lol.

Re: Sorta strange invite question
We are sending it to the girl with both of their names, if by some strange chance they break -up after the invite is sent we will just personally tell them they can bring a guest.

Re: Sorta strange invite question
I'm not really going to help much...
If they broke up would they both still be invited? If yes, then send them both an invitation.
However, in the interesting of saving money, I would suggest just asking and sending one invite addressed to both of them at whichever preferred to receive it.

Re: Sorta strange invite question
FH and I have a few friends that are in serious relationships but don't live together. We are sending them one invitation as a couple.
