My Fh called me this morning....and I was surprised because on Sunday he left for a mission and I wouldn't be talking to him for about 2 weeks.
but he called and said that his humve got hit by an IED (road side bomb). He said everyone was okay thankfully because it wasn't a huge one. But he has some scraps and bruises and some burns (and a couple on his face) and the first thing he said to me was: I am so worried about our wedding pics now I hope these scars go away! lol he is to cute and then he said 'when we got hit I was soo scared the first thing I thought about was you'
Sorry I am very down today so I just thought I would post this to make me feel a little better.
Anyone else have any stories that helped them put things into perspective...like not to go crazy anymore about the wedding...because not only did this help but jsut in general FH being away and in Iraq has helped me stay calm and not crazy over wedding things.

awwwww he is so sweet but thank god he is okay. Scrapes and bruises are ok to deal with when something like that happens, you prefer that that scenario. Glad to hear he is ok and its funny that hes worried about the wedding pictures, that is touching. Dont feel down, he will be back soon and your wedding is fast approaching, its only 4 months away so keep focusing on that.
For me it was a couple of things. When my dad was in the hospital for a month. I remember being so afraid that he wouldnt make it for the wedding or be in good condition to walk me down the aisle, honestly thinking of that i couldnt think of my wedding day bc couldnt imagine that not happening. Made me think that having those you love with you is more important than anything. It wasnt what i was having at my wedding bc none of that would matter in this case

Catie
I think of you whenever I see anything about the war on TV. I really hope you are not watching the show in HBO I told you about --- I haven't and don't really know what the show is about, but I don't think I could, and I can't imagine the fiance or wife of someone who's over there watching it.
You really are very strong and I can't wait for your FH to get home for you.

I am so glad to hear that he's ok, I will pray for him tonight that he stays safe over there and comes home SOON!!!!
My 'Perspective' Story was pretty scary as well. Me and DH got engaged on June 21, 2006. We were putting off setting a date and just enjoying being engaged. A couple of weeks later, DH developed this nagging chest congestion and cough which lingered on and on.....finally after months and months of me harassing him to go to the Doctor, he caved in and went for a check-up (he kept insisting that it was allergies!!!!). When the Dr. listened to his lungs, he set up a Chest Xray and saw what looked like Pneumonia all through both sides of his lungs which he said wasn't normal. He sent him for an Emergency CT Scan and when the results came back, the radiologist suspected that it was Metatastic Cancer. It felt like someone had literally kicked me in the stomach and I thought I would lose my mind. The Doctor wanted to schedule an Immediate Biopsy of the lungs and DH refused Yea seriously..I almost went insane on him hysterical crying and screaming at him that he was nuts. DH insisted that he wanted to go to Florida by his parent's for a few weeks and 'ENJOY HIS LIFE' because if he had metatastic cancer, he didn't think he'd ever get the chance again so he wanted to go fishing and stuff and just enjoy life. So anyway, we go and I had to lock myself in a bathroom and cry it out like a baby at least 10 times a day. I just couldn't look at him with out bawling.
We finally get back and he does the Biopsy which comes back that it is not MC but is Sarcoidosis. Not quite as bad but also incurable...you either live with it, it goes away by itself, or it spreads til you die. Anyway, after that, we set a date right away and we cherish every moment of every day. You never know when that last kiss will be.
