Speaking of cakes....

Is anyone 'upgrading' their cake?
RH supplies a cake of my choice (froma book). However, I want to add something to it (pinstripes for my Yankee theme).

Anyone upgrading and have an idea on the cost?

We aren't upgrading but we are bringing ours in from FH favorite bakery in Brooklyn, Villabate......I don't think it costs TOO much to upgrade, especially if you are only wanting to add stripes? My sister upgraded her RH cake and I really don't think it cost more than $50??

I would call the bakery they use and speak with them, they should be able to give you a good idea of what it would cost. Usually fondant is extra.

I amy upgrade, but for some reason I believe Floral Terrace provides you with an awesome selection of what you want your cake to be. I think at my hall, everything depends on how many guests you have. I am sooo excited to start talking with the bakery about my cake!!

that's the only bakery that my RH allows you to order your cake from.

yes we are upgrading. i personally don't like ice sculptures so by writing on the contract that i don't want one, we got an extra $250 towards our cake.

when should you start talking to the bakery about your cake??

have you every tried ButterCooky's cakes?? i love the cookies....and i've tried a few of the cakes so far...i havent been disappointed yet!

I love Villa Bate's. We're most likely going to upgrade also.

Thanks for posting this! I am booking this weekend..my hall gives an ice sculpture as well (I don't really like them either)..I will ask about not having one and putting that money towards a cake upgrade. Thanks!
