Spent the other day in L & D...
Yuck! I woke up on Friday with severe pain on my right side only. I called my doctor (who is up in Rochester, where I live) because I am visiting my family here on LI right now and didn't know what to do. She told me to get to the hospital ASAP. I was scared to death b/c I am only 24 weeks and for some reason my biggest fear is having a premature baby. Anyway, I went to Good Sam and the ER people rushed me right up to labor and delivery. They hooked me up to all sorts of monitors and determined that I wasn't having contractions (phew!!) but they still were not sure why I was in pain. To make a long story short, they ran all sorts of blood and urine tests and could not find one thing wrong! I was glad, but frustrated because it hurt sooo bad! The pain eventually went away later that night, thank goodness. The doctors think that it might have been a nerve being compressed by the baby...but they're really not sure. The funny thing is that I actually started having contractions because I was so dehydrated ( I was there for HOURS and wasn't allowed to have anything to drink!). Duh.On a positive note....they did a quick ultrasound to make sure the baby was okay AND..............I AM HAVING A GIRL!!!!!
I am soooo happy!! My first u/s technician said it was most likely a girl, and the doctor at Good Sam confirmed it. He said 'absolutely, 100% girl'. I even saw the girl parts with my own eyes. I am soo excited for my little girl to get here!! 15 more weeks to go!

Wow, congrats!!!! Sorry you had to go through all of that - but a girl!!! How exciting!!!!

Glad to hear it's nothing!!!! Congratulations on finding out it's a girl!!! I hope the rest of the weeks fly by & are VERY easy!!

A girl what a wonderful blessing. I am very glad you and the baby are okay. Try to relax the next couple of days and make sure you drink lots of water!
