Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
Ok, didn't mean for anyone to take me so literally. When I was a 'kid' I was influenced by others more so than I am now. If my 40 year old friend was a coke addict and wasn't showing up to work and wasn't paying the bills, I would voice concern. If that 40 year old had a great job, paid the bills on time, and had no effect of me, that fine. Live life how you want, it's yours not mine.

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
So if I have never done crystal or E and I don't even know what K is, does it make it more acceptable for me to strongly disagree with the use of drugs for 'party pleasure' than for someone who used those drugs at one time and no longer does? I am not following the born again thing.

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
Kim921, that's not what you said in your initial post. You initially made it seem like you did it when you were 'younger' and now that you're 24 and all grown up, you don't do it...and if people around you do do it, then they're going to hear it from you - and they should deal with it cause that's 'what they get' for doing it in front of you. It's not a jab at you - you just happened to say it...I just don't like preachy types or 'born agains'. I think it's self righteous. If you see a friend in danger, help them - no problem there. But acting self righteous is annoying.
Initial post: I am the type of person who speaks my mind, I don't hold much back. I have friends who still partake in 'party pleasure' on 'special' occasions, and I speak my mind. If you don't want to hear my mouth, don't do it around me. JMO

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
I just don't think you should pass judgement on your friends PERIOD. But personally, I think it's worse if you used to party with said friends, 'find your way' and then act all self righteous around said friends (that's what I call 'born again'). You changed, then you move on - don't hang around and get all preachy with them.

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
CP0329-I didn't want to write a novel, so I gave you a summary. You don't actually know me, that is why 'internet talk' is hard. What I meant, and should have stated more clearly is that I DO NOT pass judgment. They will hear it if they are out of control. If they are in control I have no qualms. I meant I partyed when I was younger, and am out of that stage of my life. I have seen pretty terrible things from the use of drugs, and if my friends are in trouble, yes, I will speak up. If someone has a problem with that, well it's just that, They're problem, not mine.Trust me, if you actually knew me on a personal level, you would laugh for categorizing me as a 'preachy type' or 'born again'. Just a little hard to communicate fully what I meant in a post.
Should have been more clear, I apologize.

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
I agree with you..Most of my friends are single and still 'partY' as I chose not to live that way anymore I would never dare pass a judgement on what they do.
alll I say is HOW the F did I use to do this????????

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
T - Are you passing judgment on me because I had sex with 400 people?
I follow. I am not a born again. But I have a brother who has been battling drug addiction for over ten years (and he is only 25), so I reserve my right to be concerned for all friends who need to use drugs to have fun, and I have no problem verbalizing those concerns in a calm manner, becuase I have seen what it can do when it gets out of control.
If that means that people pass judgment on me, then I can live with that.
What is K???

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
When drugs of any sort interfere with day to day activities I think it is perfectly acceptable to voice your concerns to a friendI was a club child of the 80's need I say more!!
I really don't believe one drug is less dangerous than another alcohol included
Not preaching just offering an opinion

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
No one on this thread came across as preachy to me. Theresa asked an opinion and people responded. Everyone has a right to there opinion, so I will not 'judge' you on yours, but you might want to back off a bit about everyone else's feelings on the matter. It's an opinion. just my 2 cents.

WHAT IS KETAMINE?
Ketamine hydrochloride ('Special K' or 'K') was originally created for use as a human anaesthetic, and is still used as a general anaesthetic for children, persons of poor health, and in veterinary medicine.
Ketamine belongs to a class of drugs called 'dissociative anaesthetics,' which separate perception from sensation. Other drugs in this category include PCP, DXM and nitrous oxide (laughing gas).
Ketamine usually comes as a liquid in small pharmaceutical bottles, and is most often cooked into a white powder for snorting.
WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS?
At lower doses it has a mild, dreamy feeling similar to nitrous oxide. Users report feeling floaty and slightly outside their body. Numbness in the extremities is also common.
Higher doses produce a hallucinogenic (trippy) effect, and may cause the user to feel very far away from their body.
This experience is often referred to as entering a 'K-hole' and has been compared to a near death experience with sensations of rising above one's body. Many users find the experience spiritually significant , while others find it frightening.
While in a K-hole it is very difficult to move. People usually remain seated or lying down during the experience.
WHAT IS THE DOSAGE?
Most people snort small lines or 'bumps' for a mild, dreamy effect. The effect comes on within about 5 to 10 minutes.
100mg is usually enough to enter a K-hole.
If liquid is injected into the muscle, less is needed to enter a K-hole. Effects can be felt within four minutes. (Ketamine is never injected into the vein).
If swallowed, the effects come on in 10 - 20 minutes.
Some people become nauseous after taking ketamine.
Occasionally ketamine has been sold in a capsule as 'Ecstasy,' although it is nothing like MDMA (real ecstasy). An ecstasy testing kit can be used to screen against fake ecstasy tablets.
BE CAREFUL.
While low doses of Ketamine can increase heart-rate, at higher doses it depresses consciousness and breathing and is extremely dangerous to combine with downers like alcohol, Valium or GHB.
Frequent use can cause disruptions in consciousness and lead to neuroses or other mental disorders.
Ketamine can cause a tremendous psychological dependence. The dissociation from one's consciousness experienced with ketamine can be highly seductive to some people, and there are many cases of ketamine addiction.
Ketamine is illegal and possession can result in long prison terms.

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
hmmm...I know my college self would laugh at me today...actually my college self would probably pass judgment on the today me for being such a square...as for 'born agains' these people have been there...and maybe suffered and are trying to prevent others from suffering...
I'm glad that there are some people who don't get addicted...but that is usually not the case...if you are 40 and doing coke...here, I'll pass some judgment...I think you should seek to find other pleasures in your life...Dedicate time to your family...use the money to invest in retirement...learn a new skill...
but thats me...my opinion...my judgment

Re: Spin off from Slim down. Do you think you have the?
I have never been around anyone who did E or K or anything like that, mainly because clubs have never been my thing - but I can tell you that I think the wacky weed and other 'recreational' drugs are gross. My father was a drug addict, and it had a profound effect on our family and my life, and my cousin struggles with a methampehtamine addiction to this day. So - drugs have affected my life negatively and therefore I can say yes, I would pass judgment. Mainly because I think drugs are such stupid things to do and I've seen the havoc they can wreak.I also think that we, as a society, have the right to speak up when the behavior of others affects us (driving while high, commiting armed robberies, or just plain old fashioned hooking up with a completely unacceptable guy), and I also think that we, as a society, have an obligation to take care of each other, and if that means saying that using drugs is stupid at the risk of offending them, or preaching at them, so be it.
