Girls that have ordered Ivory/off white/cream colored dresses rather than stark white, list your designer/material and if the color difference is very noticablein person and/or in pics.
This may help put many brides at ease.

Re: Spin off to: Girls with Ivory Gowns
mine is a pronovias and it looks very dark in the website pics, but not so dark in person. i'm a tiny bit concerned that it will look as dark in my own wed pics, but i'm not stressing over it. i figure i'll be the only one in a wedding dress that day and no one will notice that it's ivory instead of white. basically in person it looks like a creamy white.

Mine was a maggie sotero and it did not look yellow in most of my pics.
My sister is wearing a Pronovias & in the pics we took so far (it is still on order) they do not look yellow, but if you put it against a white veil you can see the difference.

Re: Spin off to: Girls with Ivory Gowns
this was a decision of a life time for me!!! (as cheesy as it sounds lol) my dress is in ivory by demetrious.... it is SO rich looking. You really cant even tell it's not 'white white' unless ur standing next to someone in STARK white..... it looks more like an antique or diamond white. I tried on both colors and his ivory just looked so much more rich & elegant than stark white... but to each is own... a girlfriend of mine just got married and requested stark white. The women that worked at my dress place also told me that usually whatever color the shop has the sample in, is usually in what the dress looks best in if that helps...because different materials look better in different couples. Ask your dress shop attendent their opinion...they're usually pretty honest and know what they're talking about.

My dress is Alvina Valenta and it is duchesse satin. It really only looks ivory when it is next to a stark white dress.

I have a dress from Private Label by G and the ivory is very light and not noticeable in pics. It looks like a soft white almost.

Mine was a Reem Acra and in pics you can't tell at ALL that it's not white. My girlfriend got married 3 weeks ago and also wore an ivory Reem and it looked white in pics as well.

Mine was Maggie Sottero. I think it looked white, not yellow at all. It photographed white but had a rich, warm tone in daylight.

Re: Spin off to: Girls with Ivory Gowns
My gown was Maggie Sottero Eleganza in Ivory/Champagne, and in pics (see profile for example) it showed more white and ivory. In person it was noticeable, and I coordinated around it, but in pics it really wasn't CHAMPAGNE.

New ?? To the brides who are already married, were your fh's and gm's shirts in white or did you try to get it off-white or ivory? just wondering so that the dress doesn't look dirty, like other brides have mentioned.

Mine's Pronovias - it's raw silk. Raw silk only come in... raw silk color! So anyway, I think it looks white in pics... I'm standing on a white sheet in this pic.... Oh, in the pics on the Pronovias site it looks much darker, but not really in person.
HOT DRESS!!!!!!

My FH bought an ivory tie & ivory shirt. The GM and my FH are all wearing tan suits as opposed to tuxes - it's just my opinion, but I like suits better than tuxes. So my FH will have ivory tie - the GM have a chocolate brown/gold/orange tie (fall colors) I just love how it looks - note this is not my FH... just a random pic of a BP in tan suits

I don't think mine looked yellow at all. It's Monique Lhuillier and the fabric is Silk Peau de Soie.
