Spin-off to Tux Post...Timeframe

When should we start looking for tuxes? What's the latest? If we go at the end of February, would that be okay? Not sure if we're buying or renting yet...

If buying, what's the general estimate for them?

If you are renting, I think you have up until a 6 weeks before. We are going with Men's Wearhouse because my dad may be getting one and brother too, easier since they are OOT.

The pricing is around $150 to rent

I think you should go now. We just went for our June wedding.

We went to tuxedo park in Carle Place. For the tuxedo FH is renting, they said it would be $850 to buy which includes lifetime alterations. However, other places are cheaper. Several years ago, FH bought a tux at Men's Wearhouse for $450

What would happen if I waited until end of February? lol. FH wants to loose a few more pounds before going for his.

If he's buying I think you would have to place order before then.. I am not sure. For renting, you can get sized up until a month before I believe.

i really dont think it'd be a problem if you are renting to wait till end of feb.. not too sure abt buying though...

The way we're doing it is I went alone with FH, we picked out his attire and the GM attire. He will go back closer to the wedding with the guys to get them measured and for him to be measured again. He will have a 'final fitting' just like our wedding gowns. You should go ahead of time to decide the overall look, etc.

I went over the weekend with FH to pick them out.

The guys are going the 29th to order them

FH and I are planning to go something this month to look at the tuxes and pick them out. He probably won't get the guys together to go get measured until sometime in late Feb or March.

We went the week before Xmas. I would def do it before the 2 month mark. We gave the guys a deadline of the month before the wedding to get their measurments in and deposits paid. We are just renting since I doubt anyone would ever wear them again.

Thanks girls - it sounds like if renting is the option which I definately think it is, as long as we go in February we should be okay. Phew!

FH and I are just going this weekend to get an idea of style - what he wants and what he wants to guys to be in.

We are going to have anyone order until early March.

I have the same question. The BM is in afghanistan but will be back for the wedding. I just hope we can get in touch with him so we can at least get his measurements. He's probably like 6'3 so im a little worried!
