you know, I really wasn't going to do them....I though they were just a waste of time and money....until I posted on these boards. A lot of girls made me realize that they really are a nice touch, and they are noticed. Guys will NEVER understand this type of thing, so don't even mention it to FH. I actually delegated this task to my mother and she had the best time shopping and putting ours together (she's martha-stewartish). I'm glad that I decided to go ahead and do them - I went to a wedding at the Rainbow Room in Manhattan a few months ago, and they didn't have one in the bathroom and I will tell you I did notice it (maybe because I'm planning my own wedding, but regardless it stuck out to me as something that was missing).

What if there is more than one wedding? Won't this be a little odd? What if the other party also makes baskets?

not only are there multiple weddings at my hall, but the restaurant also shares the restroom. I'm going to talk to my hall before I make them, but if they say yes I'm doing it

In that case, I wouldn't do it.

Harmon was a great spot for me - lots of stuff for great prices. I probably spent about $50 for the two baskets combined.

i stocked mine up at walmart for less than $35! i think they are a nice touch. i noticed that my brother didnt have one at his wedding this past weekend and my sister needed hairspray for her daughter (FG) and we had to ask the BM's if they packed any. its just convenient. ~lacey

i went to walmart also and got some great deals. there are a few posts on here with lists on what you can include in the baskets. i wasn't going to do a bathroom basket until i was at a wedding last Sept. after dinner i had bad heartburn and my FH had a headache. they didn't have bathroom baskets and we weren't prepared. now i will be sure to put some advil and tums in there!

i think the norm is hairspray, mouthwash, feminine products, bobby pins, etc

The only reason why I didn't do them is because Fox Hollow has a bathroom attendant who has all that stuff. Otherwise I would have definitely done it. I think it's a really nice touch.

to me that makes perfect sense and why let guest of other weddings use your stuff.

smcc is one at a time so no chance of that. need ideas of what to put in them...

We supplied our florist with the supplies. They put everything in a basket for the ladies room and a cigar box for the men's room. We got everything at the 99 cent store. There is no reason to spend a lot of money on these things.

not looking to spend much, i just don't want to get crap that no one needs.

Some basic but useful things:

mouthwash
hairspray
clear nail polish- good for stocking runs, chipped nails, etc
tampons/pads
band aids
Neosporin
Tylenol/Advil/asprin
cotton balls
