WOW!!! Yeah that is definitely too much for me to be paying for BC especially since I used to get it for free going to Planned Parenthood haha
Can you find out beforehand if your insurance covers your birth control??
Yup, call your insurance company and let them know what you're considering, they'll tell you. Most of the time you can even find the info on their website

I use the ring also and its been great!! I went through many of the pills and had a lot of trouble with them but no problems with the ring, I have been on it for about a year now and it hasn't fallen out or anything like that, my FH was worried about the same type of things but no problems. I thinks its also great because you don't have to worry about taking a pill everyday, also it has made my periods shorter and lighter..its been great I would recommend it!!!

LOEStrin 24 gave me craaaaaaaaazy migranes, I bled through the OrthoEvra patch, the ring is very bad for your cervix, I liked Ortho Tircylin but it made me gain weight....although my boobs were HUGE when I was on it so that was a plus....
I'm going to try Yaz too I think....my friend is on it and she SWEARS by it....

I also used the ring and I LOVED IT until i was using it for about 6 months and I completely lost my sex drive, so I went off of it! Now we use the old fasion BC method.........condoms.

I am trying to think. I don't want to go off birth control all together because I like hte regulation of my period and no cramps
But since FH will be leaving June 27th for Japan for a year maybe I should just get the Pill instead of the Ring and try that when FH gets home
I mean it isnt like I am going to be sexually active during that time so if I miss a day or two of pills I wont be freaked out and scared I am pregnant
ooo what to do what to do

No i switched doctors. She doesn't deliver anymore so since i changed insurances i just figured i'd switch. I go to Dr. Lester now in Babylon. I heard the ring is good. When i first started the pill i gained weight but you lose it after a while and since then i just gained even more (not from the pill just from eating at chris's house) so it really doesn't matter

i set an alarm on my phone to go off every night at like 10pm. It remindes me. I leave them in my pocket book cause if i'm out at a bar i'll take it them goes down with a nice beer.. But after a couple of years i don't take it exactly at the same time. I usually just take it before i go to bed.

Re: Spinoff: Best Birth Control- I am changing mine so I need help!
I tried Ortho years ago and it was horrible! I bled for so long and so heavily and was miserable!
I've been on Estrostep FE (iron) for almost 2 years now. It's a lower dose to prevent side effects. I love it!! You do not gain weight, have cramps or bleed heavily on it. Since it has iron in it (the five 'fake' pills at the end of the pack have them, to replenish it in your system while you have your period) you do not have to worry about vitamin deficiency.
I have insurance and it costs me $15.00 a month. I used to get heavy periods for at least 6-7 days, days 5-6 still being really heavy. Once my body adjusted to this one (it took about three months for my cycle to regulate..now I know the day and even time it's coming!!) and I get a moderately heavy period for days 1 and 2, days 3 and 4 are super-light and it's gone by day 5!! It truly is a miracle drug!!!
Hope that helps.

OK so which one and why???
Loestrin 24 Orthro Tri Cyclen Orthro Tri Cyclen Low Yasmin The Ring

I tried both orthrotricyclens, and I had problems with both of them...I use Yasmin and i swear by it, no problems, everything is normal and i barely get any cramps..it depends every body is different..

Is Estrostep FE a generic or brand? I have never heard of it before but I might think about it now haha

I know that is true. I am just nervous for some reason. But it is funny cause FH wont be home fro a whole year so it really doesnt matter I guess if I want to switch it up because I dont like a certain kind

I am on the Ring, and I love it. It was weird at first having something in me for 3 weeks straight, but it's been fantastic. No side effects at all, and I never have to worry because I forgot to take a pill one night!!!
