Spinoff: Best Birth Control- I am changing mine so I need help!

Ok. I have a gyno appt on Saturday and I want to change my Birth Control Method. I am on the Patch right now!! I know I know it is horrible that is why I am getting off of it.

So the only one that I really dont want to use is Yaz since it is a low dosage I am nervous cause sorry if this is to much info but we do not use condoms and I am nervous it wont be strong enough (maybe I am being parinod)!!

OK so which one and why???

Loestrin 24
Orthro Tri Cyclen
Orthro Tri Cyclen Low
Yasmin
The Ring

any others I just can't think (oh and not the shots)

I hate BC all together and I'd rather not be on it but my cramps are out of control. I've been on yasmin and hated it, I had sporadic spotting. I'm on loestrin now and it's ok but that is a lot coming from me since i hate BC

but you do like Loestrin 24? I was going to try either this or The Ring

It hardly controls my cramps, I have to take an elephant's dose of motrin on top of my BC to help with my cramps but they're still intolerable. I like loestrin b/c I do have a much lighter period on it and a much shorter one and I don't have sporadic bleeding on it. The concept of the ring scares me, don't you have to have the doctor insert it every month or am I thinking of somethign else?

I've been on Orhto Lo but it killed my sex drive which is when I switch to Yaz. My sister is on Yasmine and really likes it.

i switched from a generic brand to loestrin 24 and i really like it.

i was severely depressed on my old pill and this one changed my life ( literally!) i get my period on one day ( and i pick the day!) so i get it on wednesday and then thursday is a 'fake' day. . . i skipped a month a while back but the gyn said that is common and honestly - i dont even know when i have my period, i dont feel any different

so far i like it - but i have been on it less then a year so i worry about giving recommendations BECAUSE my OLD pill was great for a few years before it ruined my life ( lol)

ps - totally TMI but we dont use a backup. and so far so good knock on wood that is me knocking on brick errr wood.

No the Ring is literally a kinda rubber ring you insert yourself but you keep it in there for 3 weeks and take it out andhave your period the 4th week

Fh is scared by that because he says that is weird to have something int here for 3 weeks straight. And I dont want it to fall out and having to put it back in etc. haha

I heard Orthro Lo kills peoples sex drive...i dont think FH would like that too much haha

thanks...I was thinking Loestrin was the best to go on or Yasmine IDK I am just oging to ask the doctor. Cause she told me she was on the Ring and loves it but I am a little skeptical about it still

it depends on your insurance, I think mine is $35/month? If I mailed it in it'd be cheaper but I'm a lazy biotch

WOW!!! Yeah that is definitely too much for me to be paying for BC especially since I used to get it for free going to Planned Parenthood haha

Can you find out beforehand if your insurance covers your birth control??
