didn't want to add your name onto the house?
This is not my case but just a spinoff question.

Normally I would say yes, but since I am receiving Financial Aid for school, I am actually looking into the possibility of getting more $$ if my name is not on the house.....
However, that would be my chioce....if HE didn't want me to, then that would tick me off.

while it may save you more money, thats very dangerous legally.
get your name on that deed!
we are not married yet & both of our names are on the mortgage & deed.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), i could not be on the mortgage when we bought our place because I have an absolutely rediculous amount of student loans from 5 years of graduate school. However, I will be added on (I guess it's to the deed?) now that we have closed. So i will be co-owner. FH would not have it any other way and neither would I.

Hearzbellz - That's what I am going through, but I will be added on to the deed now that we have closed. You just can't be part of the mortgage process. It's actually really nice because I didn't have to go through all of the paperwork or sign my name a million times at the closing. Now, he just has to add me on to the deed.

Yes it would bother me. The Maxima that HE bought this year is under both of our names and we're not even married yet. He wanted me to feel/know that it is OUR car and not just his.

Helene718 -That is what we are looking at too, just putting my name on the deed.... this item is actually stipulated in our pre-nup...I am just waiting for final word from my attorney.
and thanks spel.... I am a bit nervous about it, not being in the mortgage process, but I think I am covering my tracks!

We are having a house built. My credit Sucks. I mean it is really bad (darn credit cards in college) but FI credit is really good. For the construction loan purposes we both felt that just having it all in his name would be extremely benefitial. I have absolutly no problems whatsoever with it. In fact I told him please keep my name off the morgage and when my credit is better we will add me. I dont want my credit to ruin his good credit and us getting the morgage.
However the deed to our land is all me. He doesnt exist on the deed. But that is something when we bought it, it had to go in one person's name so we put it in mine.

If it is solely a credit issue then it would not bother me, provided that the agreement was that my name would be added later on.

I bought the townhouse before we were married, so his name is not on the deed or mortgage.
We've looked into refianancing but it doesn't make sense for us since were not staying there for much longer. From what I've been told there is no other way to add his name to the deed.
I think it bothers me more than it does him. He doesn't care at all!
